Made in Heaven shows how 32 different examples of nature were used to influence various innovations in science- - -including how a pinecone helped engineers create bio-inspired fabrics, how real hands helped to inspire robotic hands, and how eyes inspired better camera lenses. Highlighting how scientists cannot replicate the "real thing," and thus providing indirect proof that only God can create things from scratch, this book acknowledges the divine design that inspires our world. 78 pages, hardcover. Science shamelessly steals from Gods creation, yet refuses to give God the glory!
- How the glow of a cats eyes innovates road reflectors
- The naturally sticky inspirations for Velcro and barbed wire
- A flys ear, the lizards foot, the moths eye, and other natural examples are inspiring improvements and new technologies in our lives
Engineers and inventors have long examined Gods creation to understand and copy complex, proven mechanics of design in the science known as biomimicry. Much of this inspiration is increasingly drawn from amazing aspects of nature, including insects to plants to man in search of wisdom and insight. We are surrounded daily by scientific advancements that have become everyday items, simply because man is copying from Gods incredible creation, without acknowledging the Creator.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in how things work. By reading it, I was convicted of how amazing God is, and how he thought everything through in detail. The text is simple to follow and the pictures are very interesting. But the main reason I loved it was because it was so intriguing how many things were made after what God did in his creation. Made in Heaven is a magnificent book that I know will interest you as much as it did me. - Lauren Oliver, age 12, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
