I read this book when it came out, and could not put it down. It is an eye opener for those of us who do not live in a country that does not allow Christ or his word. This book is inspirational, and shows what devotion to Christ looks like and can be like for those who are his, thru faith. From this book, I have become more aware of the Persecuted Church & support it.
Hearts of Fire, a collection of true stories by Steve and Ginny Cleary, is a moving and gripping book about courageous and faithful women, sold out for Christ. Eight women endure beatings, kidnappings, and imprisonment without forsaking their vow to Christ and without divulging names or locations of other believers. The countries were differentIndonesia, Bhutan, Russia, Romania, Pakistan, China, India, and Vietnamand the time periods differ, but each womans story is similar, heart-rending, and yet, so inspiring. Their faith, devotion and conviction, amid extreme persecution challenge Christians who are yet free to worship and have access to the Word without fear of punishment. Their stories will convict any complacency or lack of gratitude for blessings and freedoms taken for granted. This is a book well worth reading. I received this book through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.
Very good book. One all Christians, especially women, should read. It always encourages me to read of women who kept their faith at times when many of us would have been angry with God. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to other volumes in the future.
