I enjoyed this book primarily for the "lightness" of the entirety of the book. the characters were well described. Some laughs. A hard working laborer and a librarian...who would think would make a good match? Grease and grime coupled to a "book nerd" who keeps track of all her good deeds...I also enjoyed it because it was a light read...no heaviness. Some romance without all the vulgarity in some books. A "macho man" who "fathers" abandoned kittens like they were his children...An excellent read to get away from the fast pace of life. Would recommend for almost any age - teens and older.

I loved this book! Hayley, the bookmobile librarian, brings sunshine to others wherever she goes, though she's hiding something from her past. She's almost obsessive about doing good deeds every day and records them in a notebook. On the first trip with the donated, dilapidated bookmobile, it breaks down. Levi is the mechanic who answers her call for a tow truck. He lives alone on the mountain and doesn't interact much with his neighbors. Social interaction has always been difficult for him since he has difficulty with sensory processing. I so appreciated Hayley's reactions to him. They are both wonderful characters that were so easy to be vested in. Since some of the children I work with have sensory processing difficulties, it was so interesting to read of Levi's reactions and thoughts. He was such a romantic at heart. Knowing the author and her son also experiece this gives the book authenticity. Hearts in Circulation is a book I highly recommend. It's a sweet romance with some depth.

Haley Holt's librarian job just went up a notch, as she's now in charge of the brand new library bookmobile. The position is new, not the vehicle. The vehicle is in fact old and about ready to break down, which it proceeds to do on her very first visit to the remote town of Turkey Grove. Good thing there's a mechanic who can go about fixing the four-wheeled beast, and he just might stake a claim on her heart while he's at it.

Levi Redding mostly wants to be left alone. As the middle child sandwiched between four sisters, he's had enough chatter in his life, especially with his sensory processing disorder. Certain sounds, smells, textures, and other things bother him way more than most people. When Haley blows into her life, with her bubbly personality and friendly ways, he should be put off by her. But she's refreshing in an unexpected way, and very soon they find themselves drawn to one another.

I really enjoyed this book. It held so many things that I personally love in a story, and it also reminded me of my love story with my husband, as he is my own hero with a physical disability and we had to have a level of commitment very early in our relationship that probably did look like insta-love and forced proximity to onlookers. Of course, we were in our 40s and knew what we were looking for in a partner and had lots of family around us, so it wasn't quite the same, but there were aspects that were similar.

I liked this book because it was light and fun but also had really great truths woven through that challenged both Levi and Haley in their approach to life. I liked the resolution of Haley's main hold-up and found it incredibly endearing. And let's not forget the kittens! Talk about insta-love.

Not everyone will love these tropes and I would definitely say the romance reached Jody Hedlund levels, so I can see why not all readers would love this book as I did. But it lightened my heart and made me laugh. I hope you'll check it out!

This is a lighthearted sweet read that deals with some deeper issues too. Hayley is the recipient of a liver transplant and feels that she needs to keep paying it forward to be worthy of the gift of life she received. I haven't thought much about how it would feel to be on the receiving end in organ donation. It was interesting seeing how Hayley tried to deal with it. I laughed at her trying to bring a "tepid inconvenience" down on someone's head like hoping they "never have matching tupperware containers and lids" for the rest of their lives.

Levi is unique too. He has a sensory processing disorder (SPD) and finds it's easier to just avoid people and all the noise and commotion they bring. Hayley has a beautiful way with him and it really frees him.

I loved all the book quotes and the sweet letters the two wrote to each other. They have a fun relationship. Though I'm a dog person all the way, I enjoyed the kittens as well. This was a fun read.

This story started out with so many hilarious quotable moments! I love these characters and was happy to re-visit the librarians of Little Creek.

The romance is forced proximity, and leans toward insta-love, but I loved it. The dual POV is so good, as we hear the characters' witty thoughts and feelings. Both MC's are selfless and self-aware. Mostly.

Do you ever have heartache and tears for a character because they're in love, and their heart is breaking over the relationship not moving forward? This story did it to me!

There are some more serious topics covered by the end of the book, including health issues, both mental and physical.

I have thoroughly enjoyed both books in the Checking Out Love series and look forward to the third next year! Highly recommended!
