This book has beautiful, colorful art and graphics that reinforce the book's message. There is such a variety in the children, and they are also beautiful. They are shades of brown from dark to light, different hair styles and eyes. They have different interests and skills

But the children are all alike too. The all like having fun; they all like moving, and they all love music. They love lunchtime, and all have favorite foods. They are all curious and love to ask questions. All of them have feelings and friends to cheer them up. But most important of all is that this all comes from God, because the touch of God is where love and kindness starts.

The message touches on a lot of important concepts and is just right in the way these are communicated. And isn't it great to celebrate both the ways we are unique AND the ways we are alike? It will really build children up and affirm that because God loves them, he made them exactly the way they are.

This book was recommended by Christianity Today, and I recommended it to our local library system for purchase. They purchased 15 copies! You might do the same for your local library.

The whimsical illustrations along with the beautiful rhyme create an easy to read aloud story that celebrates all children. Linsey Davis uses her words to teach children that they may be different, but God created them to be alike with a big heart to love each other. I love the colorful illustrations and the well-chosen words that encourage children to see the best in each other. This is a perfect read for preschool and Kindergarten. Or share this sweet story at home. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zonderkidz. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

ONE BIG HEART is a children's book that celebrates diversity and will show children why everyone is different from hair texture to eye color to skin, to likes and dislikes. It also shares that you can still be friends and show love to someone different than you.

This book would be good for a child starting preschool for the first time to show that while we may all be different but we are alike in many big ways. It also stresses the need to be kind.

Recommended for preschool children attending an actual preschool.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own
