Hearing the voice of God can feel mysterious and out of reach for many believers. Prayer is supposed to be a conversation, but for many it feels like a monologue. This yearlong devotional shows the beautiful simplicity of spending time with God.
Written during David Chadwick's prayerful readings through Scripture, Hearing the Voice of God records the gentle messages of encouragement and hope God laid on his heart. Drawn from the Gospel of John, the disciple "whom Jesus loved," these devotions reflect God's desire for intimacy and relationship with us.
Each daily reading begins with an excerpt from John and is followed by a prayer. While not inspired, these words accurately and biblically echo the heart of God as heard in Scripture. An excellent addition to your daily devotions, Hearing the Voice of God will draw you closer to the Father's heart.
David Chadwick has been the pastor of Forest Hill Church in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1980. He played basketball at and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, then joined a professional basketball league for three years in Europe. He has MDiv and DMin degrees from Columbia Theological Seminary.

It covers a lot of territory. There are a lot of subjects - sometimes it is very dry but it is ok. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
