This devotion book has been great for me. I have been going deeper in my spiritual walk and have been hearing God speak and guide me. This book has helped me confirm things Ive experienced (like hearing Gods still small voice). I also really like the From The Heart Of God pages that are as if God is speaking directly to the reader. I love that each devotion is a full page long (It has meat to it --no fluff). I like that a lot of the Scripture passages arent the well known ones that everyone quotes. I also like the short prayers that end each devo. They are bold and very helpful to me.

Note: This book might not be for new believers, as it is deep, but it would be good for anyone who wants to hear God and who wants to seek Him with all their heart.

Disclaimer: I received this book from Tyndale Blog Network in exchange for my honest review.

Do you yearn for deeper communication with God? Don't we all want this and to hear His voice speaking to us. I will let you know I am a devotional junkie. I love to read my bible but I love devotionals that make me think and learn more about God. We have everyone of Chris Tiegreen's devotionals and they are read daily. You know I was super excited to review his newest devotional-One Year Hearing His Voice devotional. I was curious to see how different this one would be since we had all the other ones. This one is another home run by Chris Tiegreen. This devotional not only is a daily devotional but you will see how the daily readings show you patterns and practices to hear God better. We love to talk to God but do we really listen to God? These devotions help you that listening to God is a process, a journey and an adventure. We know that God will reward those that seek Him. Each day has a scripture reading, a devotional reading covering many issues and a prayer at the end. A sample from today: Whatever it takes, develop your sensitivity to God and His whispers in your life. Ask Him to tune you in to the sound of His voice. Don't wait for Him to shake the foundations of your life to get your attention. Give Him your full attention every day. Devour Scripture, watch for His words, and look for ways to apply them. Let the softening of your heart draw you into God's nourishing, healing, strengthening presence.

Do yourself a huge favor, pick up one of Chris Tiegreen's devotionals and be prepared to be blessed by his words. Why not start with his latest, Hearing His Voice devotional and you will not stop with just one devotional of his. Be blessed by his writings and remember God is not silent.

Thank you Tyndale Publishers for this free book to review just for my honest opinion.

The One Year Hearing His Voice Devotional is a nicely done devotional aimed at a general audience seeking to learn more about God on a daily basis. The book occasionally follows the traditional calendar (readings for January 1 come from John 1:1 and for December 25 come from Luke 2:19), but for the most part reading come from various parts of the Bible and do not appear to follow a specific arrangement or order.

For those looking for a gentle devotional reading to start or end each day, this book may be a good choice. Each entry begins with a quote from one or two scripture verses, devotional thoughts comprised of three or four paragraphs, and a brief prayer helping the reader to apply the content from that days reading.

The book is not attended for deep Bible Study, but to provide a guiding light to begin or end each day for the believer as she or he seeks to serve her or his Lord. It accomplishes that purpose well.
