1 Stars Out Of 5

I've used this Health PACE for homeschooling my 2 teens. While the previous PACEs were great, #4 is seriously lacking truth to the material. On page 15 in the workbook, it states, "Common hallucinogens are marijuana, LSD, and PCP...." First and foremost, this is simply not true. I work in the medical field, and work closely with people on prescribed medicinal marijuana. It does not, nor has it ever, been categorized as a hallucinogens because it does not cause hallucinations. That is a fact. On page 16, it states, "Marijuana causes memory deterioration and anxiety." Again, marijuana is used to treat Alzheimer's disease, which is an impairment of memory, and also to treat anxiety and PTSD. It also states, "Marijuana causes serious problems such as personality disturbances and brain damage." Nowhere in medical science does evidence support any of these claims. Of course I want my children warned and educated of the dangers and risks associated with drug use. But I want them to be educated by truth, not fear factor type of exaggerated and grossly inaccurate statements. I am severely disappointed in PACE #4 as a result.
