Susan5 Stars Out Of 5Hope HealsJuly 6, 2016SusanQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Loved it! Amazing what this family has been through and the Hope that they have. I felt so connected to both of them as I have a mutual friend and I remember hearing about Katherine's stroke. I really enjoyed reading from their own words what they went through and how they are doing now. It felt like we were having a visit face to face.
Rachel5 Stars Out Of 5Hope is a good thing!May 15, 2016RachelQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoyed reading this book. My father suffered from a severe stroke almost 6 months ago. The doctors told us there was a lot that he wouldn't do but we refused to believe that they had the final say. I see the same determination in Katherine's story as she fought back against all odds to do things that they thought she never would. The path she has had to walk was not easy but then I heard one time before that if God brings you to it, He will carry you through it. This book is a perfect example of faith and love and hope carrying them through difficult times and a great example to all of us that it can and will carry us through difficult times as well.

Lindsey5 Stars Out Of 5A captivating read shining hope in moments of suffering!April 29, 2016LindseyQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Do you feel like the world around you is crumbling and nothing seems certain? Do you feel like youve lost all hope and are facing insurmountable experiences that you never would have imaged happening to you? If so, you are not alone. In their new book, Hope Heals: A True Story of Overwhelming Loss and Overcoming Love Katherine and Jay Wolf share their excruciating yet beautiful story of recovery after Katherine suffers a massive brain stem stroke.
In these moments of trial and tribulation we often ask why did this happen to me? or what have I done to deserve this? but Katherine and Jay remind us that "sometimes suffering comes because of the decisions we make, sometimes it comes as a way for God to gauge His place in our hearts; and sometimes it comes simply as a by-product of living in a world that is in a state of falling apart (p.70)." Even though we cannot escape suffering, Katherine and Jay through their gripping, openly honest and raw retelling of their story shine HOPE and a message of perseverance that no trial is too big and no tribulation is a mistake there is purpose in all of it.
This is a must read book that you wont want to put down once youve started. It will remind you that there is good in everything and to not wait to celebrate the life you have been given, even if it looks different from the one you thought you would haveas [you] may never arrive at the ending [you] hoped for, so if [you] waited until then to celebrate all that has been given to [you], that celebration might never come at all (p. 143/179).
