Product Description

For too long, the popular understanding of Christian salvation has been limited to securing a place in Heaven. Sadly, many Christ-followers experience constant defeat during their time on Earth. Something is missing.

The Biblical concept of salvation comes from the Greek word 'Sozo' and has a holistic implication. Power and victory flowed through the New Testament Church because the early Christians understood how to live out their salvation in a way that impacted every area of their lives--spirit, soul, and body. In SOZO, Dawna DeSilva and Teresa Liebscher provide revelatory teaching and miraculous testimonies that paint a stunning picture of how to experience Heaven's freedom in every area of your life.

Experience Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance in Every Area of Your Life

For too long, the popular understanding of Christian salvation has been limited to securing a place in Heaven. Sadly, many Christ-followers experience constant defeat during their time on Earth. Something is missing.

The Biblical concept of salvation comes from the Greek word ’Sozo’ and has a holistic implication. Power and victory flowed through the New Testament Church because the early Christians understood how to live out their salvation in a way that impacted every area of their lives— spirit, soul, and body.

In SOZO, Dawna DeSilva and Teresa Liebscher provide revelatory teaching and miraculous testimonies that paint a stunning picture of how to experience Heaven’s freedom in every area of your life.

You will receive:

  • practical tools to deepen your relationship with the Triune God—Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
  • victory strategies to help you disarm lies, break harmful patterns, shift spiritual atmospheres, and access the often-unreached realms of abundant life.
  • keys to experience inner healing by breaking addictions, overcoming obstacles, and walking in sustained deliverance.

Salvation is not simply a ticket to Heaven.

It is abundant life that begins now…and continues forever.

Seems to replace Biblical concepts with new age techniques

The main point of Sozo is that salvation is about more than going to heaven and also includes healing and deliverance. This is a good point and it is unfortunate that so many Christians make salvation all about the afterlife. In this regard the introduction and preface of this book are really good. The rest, not so much.

The book Sozo is built on the foundation that we need to have a relationship with each individual member of the Trinity. This is a strong theological statement, but the book gives no Scripture reference to support this view. There are also many vague references where Scriptures are not directly quoted and if one would look them up, they would often see that the authors are stretching them to fit their view, not developing their view from them.

The biggest and most obvious problem with the book is that the entire concept of Sozo ministry has no basis in Scripture or in church history. When did Paul, Peter, or John ever Sozo anybody in this fashion? The idea of Sozo is good, but the book makes no mention of all the verses that tell how one can be Sozoed. For example:

Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be Sozoed.

James 1:21 says, Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to sozo your souls.

Luke 9:24 says, For whoever desires to sozo his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will sozo it.

1 Peter 3:20 says, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. (The word here for through water is diasozo, which is the means of sozo. The next verse says, There is an antitype which now sozoes us - baptism.)

Mark 16:16says, He who believes and is baptized will be sozoed, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

James 4:14-15 says, Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will sozo the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

It was not in the book, but I saw a YouTube video of a proponent of Sozo who said that after receiving the revelation of Sozo, they sought God for how they could bring Sozo to His people. But, as seen above, when wanting to help people reach a fuller level of salvation/healing/deliverance, rather than asking God for some new and mysterious revelation of how to Sozo people, one can easily read the Scriptures to see how this is done - confession, meekness implanted by the Word, sacrificing your life for Christ, water baptism, anointing with oil, and the list could go on. Yet all of these things are conspicuously absent in the book entitled Sozo!

This book seems more new age than Biblical. Laying aside the controversy of inner healing, there is nothing wrong with using Psychology to help bring spiritual healing to people; but this is not advertised as a counseling technique; and they are not claiming to be counselors. They seem to be claiming their techniques are what deliver a full level of salvation.

Isaiah 35:8 says that there is a highway of holiness that not even a wayfaring fool will err therein. This book seems to overcomplicate things by seeking some special revelation rather than practicing those things that were clearly given in Scripture and practiced by the church throughout its history.

The Greek word Sozo is translated as: Saved healed - delivered. A fuller meaning includes the model of being made whole. In their book SOZO: A Journey into Freedom with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, coleaders of the International Bethel Sozo Ministry, Dawna De Silva and Teresa Liebscher provide practical core tools and techniques that lead to a deeper relationship with God; strategies for living abundantly, and keys to experiencing inner healing and deliverance.

Each chapter is filled with examples and case histories of hurting people who have found hope; who are rising above and going beyond the trauma of growing up in a dysfunctional family, an abusive childhood, or broken relationships. Readers will be enlightened by seeing their self-worth through Gods eyes; He created you for His unique purpose, and divine destiny.

Dawna and Teresa provide interactive models of Sozo ministry sessions, probing discussion questions and activation exercises for Sozo clients and Sozo ministers in training. These illustrate the tools and techniques to prepare the reader to better experience freedom in every area of life, and to understand the process of training, mentoring, and ministering. A valuable glossary serves as an important aid to clarifying often misunderstood terms used in the area of spiritual warfare and deliverance ministries.

SOZO: A Journey into Freedom with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is highly endorsed by well-known International Christian leaders in Biblical healing ministry as a clear model for finding freedom, fullness, and spiritual liberation. The book is informative, encouraging, with important guidelines, insight, and inspiration for anyone desirous of living a life of spiritual abundance.

Sozo is the inner healing and deliverance ministry headquartered at Bethel Church in Redding, California. The co-leaders of the ministry have written this book to help believers remove the lies that block the gift of God's abundant life.

The authors explain that the gospel is more than salvation from hell. Believers are to have freedom, power, and love now. They explain the meaning of sozo, the essential nature of a strong relationship with God, forgiveness and healing wounds from the past, getting rid of lies and replacing them with the truth, closing the doors that allow demonic oppression, practicing discernment, and more.

The authors have included a number of examples of sessions with sozo team members, including dialog and prayers. They explain the steps of the various aspects of the ministry so readers can go through the healing process themselves. Included at the end of each chapter are discussion questions, specific steps of action to take, and a suggestions for further reading.

The authors remind us that we are engaged in a spiritual war. This book helps Christians to be participants in combating evil on a personal level. Readers must be willing to seek truth from God and accept it. We are also reminded that when we receive healing, it is our responsibility to walk it out.

I recommend this book to Christians who want to know more about inner healing and deliverance. These ministries can seem scary and the authors have done a great job of explaining how it is done, including specific steps for readers. I highly recommend that this book be read within a group. The wisdom and insight of others while reading the book and following the steps would provide encouragement and protection.

If you are looking for a book that can potentially lead you into some major healing you must pick this book up.

Many times as I read and walked through the questions at the end of each chapter I found myself in tears and realized issues I had yet to heal with. Things that I thought were just normal tension isnt really how God created us to function.

I think every person can benefit from this book and walking through the guidelines after each chapter will take you deeper. If it is taken seriously you could see life change in areas you have been struggling with for years. But you have to be open to what the Godhead wants to do, dont put limits on Him.

Something God has been showing me over the last year, even before I read this book, was that I really need all three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to fully engage and feel satisfied. They all play a different role and each is significant. So it was interesting to read this and see that Im on the right track.

Are you ready to dive deeper and receive healing? The Godhead is ready to give it to you.

A copy of this book was given to me by The Book Club Network, Inc. in exchange for an honest review.

Sozo, by Dawna Se Silva and Teresa Liebscher is not at all what I was expecting. This book is to help provide us with the tools we need to build a strong connection with God. The book give advice on how to break from the lies, addiction and hindrances that can take over our lives.

Sozo is a word used over 100 times in the New Testament. The word Sozo is Greek for healed, salvation and deliverance. In this book the authors talks about understanding the Godhead, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She tells us that Sozo goes beyond physical healing, it embrasses the concept of Spiritual, physical, and emotional healing.

I enjoyed reading this book even though it is more a book about the Bethel Sozo program and some of the people they have helped and the ways they work to help their clients achieve healing. I especially enjoyed reading about the Father Ladder. In this section the authors explain the correlation between members of our family and how they affect us and which part of the Godhead ties into this. I also found what the authors said about us responding to Jesus better than God or the Holy Spirit because we feel Jesus is our savior and friend and is easier to relate to.

The book end each chapter with discussion questions, steps for activation and additional reading. The author also list resources in the book to make an appointment for a Sozo session.

I received a copy of this book from Book Club Network in exchange of an honest review.
