While this Bible does have some flowery pictures, they are more plants or vines than flowers and most of the pictures will work just as well for a boy as for a girl. The pictures to color are a mix of pictures that go with the verses on the page, Bible verse quotes, and doodle-type drawings. I'd say the majority of the pictures are the doodle-type drawings, but there are quite a few of the other drawings also. I love the combination of pictures for them to color and blank lines to draw or write on. There are several pages that are card-stock thick throughout the Bible with a full-page doodle to color on one side and important topics on the other side (such as how to study the Bible, what inspired means, etc). I also really like the way the Bible lays flat when it's open so that it's easier to draw or color. I'm very excited to give this Bible to my son.

Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Illustrated Journaling BibleJuly 29, 2016Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have wanted an illustrated journaling bible for SO long. And finally I have one thanks to B&H Publishing sending me one to review!
My immediate reaction: LOVE!
It is very beautiful! It is made to lay flat as you journal and color the illustrations in the bible. The one that I have is leather on outside grey and white with gold. I like that the illustrations are either Scripture or nature. There are also some articles within the bible that ask and answer a question. One is "How to Read and Study the Bible." This one that I have is an HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible) version. I actually really like the translation. It kind of puts me in the mind of a NASB translation. I also like that in the beginning of the bible it explains the translation, what manuscripts it used, and features found in the bible. It is a decent size, large enough to read without my glasses yet small enough to toss down in my diaper bag to take with me.
Being able to color in the illustrations is a great help in calming me down when I am upset or having a hard day. It just focuses my attention to the Scripture I am coloring in.
I am NOT a teenager and yet I absolutely LOVE this bible and personally use it.
