Excellent Hardcover Copy

I am very impressed with this HCSB Drill Bible for the various reasons. One, despite the inaccurate description, stating that the HCSB Drill Bible is a glued binding, again, which is incorrect, but actually a collection of sewn signatures. Yes, signatures and sewn binding. Surprized? I am too!
Second, the double-column layout is nicely done. The text is between 8 and 9 point (black letter), the text isn't cluttered, but both clear and bold, offering a great reading experience without the distraction of notes, cross references, etc.
Third, surprisingly, the text in this Drill Bible edition comes with line-matching, which is done consistently well. I'm really impressed with the line-matching for such an inexpensive edition.
Fourth, the paper quality is fairly good, not esquisit, but good. The paper is a rather off-white color, not quite cream, yet close enough. Again, this is a great added feature for prolonged reading. I'm not sure of the exact weight, which I'm sure isn't high quality, but clearly an acceptable middle ground. Goasting is moderate and does not subract from the overall reading experience, hence, the line-matching feature I mentioned earlier.
Last, the books of the bible don't collide onto one another, but rather each book begins on another page. For example, in both my Cambridge Clarion and Pitt Minion (NASB), The Gospel of John ends halfway on the page, and the The Book of Acts will begin shortly under The Gospel of John instead of just starting Acts on a separate page. I really appreciate this feature to begin each book on its own page, I wish it was standard practice among all bible publishers.
I own a HCSB (black letter) reference edition (2013)-which is currently out of print-however, I bought this HCSB edition because I was searching for a black letter edition without notes, references, etc., which Holman apparently doesn't offer. Again, I am very satisfied with my purchase, and in my opinion, Holman knocked it out the park with this edition!
*I did not purchase this HCSB edition from CBD, but from a local bookseller. However, due to the fact I purchase regularly from CBD, I wrote this HCSB Drill Bible review in hopes to help others also searching for a quality, black letter, HCSB edition.
