Cindy5 Stars Out Of 5Love this Bible!November 13, 2017CindyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am extremely pleased with this Bible. I love the translation, I love the look and feel of the cover and pages. The study notes are very informative and show a different perspective than what I've seen in other translations. I enjoy all the notes defining or explaining the Hebrew words, which give a better understanding of the scriptures intent. This Bible is extremely well laid-out and includes many extras with which to use for study: center references, book introductions, articles, outlines, timelines, word roots and meanings, maps, pictures, etc. The font is a just little bit bigger than my other Bibles (one of the reasons I got this particular one), but it really makes a difference and I really enjoy not having to squint to read it. I purchased this Bible for what it contained--the study notes and all the extras, but I was surprised at how beautiful it was as well; it's a nice bonus. The pages are edged in gold, each book begins with a beautiful old-world parchment look to the pages (for the introduction, outline and timelines) and a picture. I love it!
kevin4 Stars Out Of 5Great stuffAugust 7, 2017kevinQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5i really like the translation. However, in the Gospel of Matthew, the word Messiah is used over Christ. the idea doesnt bother me at all but considering that isnt found in a songle manuscript does. besides that, I like the literal/dynamic equivalent mixture that is produced in the HCSB. ive heard the newer CSB is great, but this wasn't broken, so I wont fix it. There is also a nice mixture of views mixed together into the study notes. I'd of enjoyed more articles. Tjenpages do stick and need to be carefully seperated in spots

Its honestly one of the nicest Bibles I own...and I am a collector, so I have over 100 Bibles easily. Lots of notes, color pictures, concordance, many helps, cross references, beautiful quality, it even won an award. They say the CSB one that is recently out has over 15,000 study notes. But I can't seem to find where it states how many are in the HCSB. Both Bibles are put out by same people, I think. They should have named the new one something else. Its too confusing. My only complaint is the pages are stuck together in too many places....on the edges...have to separate them carefully.

This is an astonishing study bible. From cover to cover it exudes quality of craftsmanship and ideal. The HCSB is cross between dynamic and formal equivalence so you get the best of both worlds, and the full colour is just amazing. It is the most stylish and colourful bible on the market and the price is extraordinarily worth it. I find myself using it a lot as a comparison to my other bible (KJV and ESV).
It has great notes and some very good articles. The material (the Mantova Brown Simulated leather feels very supple and looks great. The feels in hands is almost as when you pick it up you don't want to put it down. That was the first thing that caught my attention, the cover. The full colour maps are well done, the articles, timelines and textual commentaries I find to be very helpful and the translation itself is very good. I showed it my niece and she wants one, actually every I've showed it to wants one. A very good bible that I think every serious bible student should have on their shelf, honestly. Keep up the great work Holman.
