This is the first Rock Harbor book I have picked up (I know, I know...) but it will not be my last one! I really enjoyed reading Colleen's " The House at Saltwater Point," so I knew a bit of what to expect of her writing style.
Well written storyline, great characters you can empathize and root for, a beautiful locale...what's not to like about this book? I did not in the least suspect the killer prior to the reveal, and I loved the CSI/crime story genre of "Haven of Swans."
Colleen is very detail oriented and thorough, which I always appreciate in a read like this. Serial killers, an amnesiac, the world of ballet, a cult...so much to keep up with, but Colleen blends it all effortlessly!
I had set the book down for a period of time due to other obligations, but I am so glad I picked it back up and finished-- I would have been sad to miss out on this awesome read. I have a long list to catch up to in this series and some of Colleen's others. This would also be good for a gift for someone who enjoys crime novels. I appreciated the hopeful way the characters handled their faith journeys, also.

This one really threw me for a loop. When I thought I knew who the serial killer was my mind was absolutely blown. You are at first see the book through the eyes of the killer - isn't that a bite - then you are seeing through one of the victims who got away but who has a missing memory - that is the second bite - and she is getting away from a killer and she sees a car - is it the killer or is it a helper of her and yes a child in her arms - hers or who's another victim the killers? So, does she get into the car with the killer or the right person? and when you find out and find out who the killer is you just will blow your mind into a million pieces like you have never done before, and you will enjoy it...........I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

However not too creepy that I couldn't finish reading it. I liked the characters and they drew me back into the story, but I didn't care to read what the killer did to his victims. Eventhough it wasn't told in detail, my imagination did the work on its own. It was just gross. There were times I wondered "what the heck am I reading?" Well, I finished reading it, partly because I wanted to figure out who the bad guy was. All in all, an okay read, but not a book I would return to.
Ellen/oceansideS D CAAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5HAVEN OF SWAN'SMay 2, 2017Ellen/oceansideS D CAAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4HAVEN OF SWANS by Colleen Coble, publish by Thomas Nelson, a Rock Harbor novel, release date of May 2. Takes place in Rock Harbor, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It starts off with the dark side, showing the killer's view. Another side of him going home and kissing his daughter good night. A woman bleeding carrying a child, standing by the road, having been attacked. Luckily Bree finds her and takes her home to where her husband and Samson a search and rescue dog live. There is more killing so another cop shows up, this woman refugee feels a connection to him. Yet, is it good or should she be leery of him. A place in the wilderness, where the swans are at, there is a geocache that will tie them all together. This book was darker then her other books I felt, and have all of hers. I feel her attempt was to write the plot from a killers mind. Some may like and others will not. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
