I am a huge fan of devotionals, especially ones that are biblically sound and push me to become more like Christ and understand how I can more glorify Him. This devotional is just that.

Chao structures the book with thirty-one days of devotionals, each addressing a specific ways to suffer well. Such characteristics include Remember, Thank, Marvel, Wait, Compare, Listen, etc.

Her goal is to help those in the midst of suffering to suffer well, with Christ as the forefront. She shares her own suffering experiences as well as the suffering of others that are well known in Christian history. These stories are encouraging, powerful, and great examples of God's suffering work in our lives for a greater good.

It's a quick and simple read which makes it an easy morning opener or evening closer. She includes a Thanksgiving section at the end that allows the reader to jot down reasons they are thankful for each daily devotional. As a logistical dislike, I wish this would have been included at the end of each daily devotional rather than at the end of the entire book.

This book lends itself to be a wonderful gift option and personal devotional.

I received copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
