The Bible Recap Study Guide: Daily Questions to Deepen Your Understanding of The Entire Bible is a companion to The Bible Recap podcast and reading guide (here is my review). This is 378 pages long and is designed for 365 days. Each day has five questions for you to answer. Things like who wrote the book, why did something happen, what's the literary style, who is the audience, why was something written, etc.

I'm a huge fan of The Bible Recap and was super excited when I discovered a study guide AND a journal were coming out this year. I love how The Bible Recap follows a chronological Bible reading plan that only takes 15-30 minutes to read each day. Tara-Leigh Cobble helps you see the entire picture of the Bible and how God uses every story for His grand story. I highly recommend her work!

Continuing the line of The Bible Recap products is this excellent study guide that goes along with the one-year guide published last year. I have used the year-long guide this whole year (2021) and let me say that reading the Bible chronologically has been a game-changer! It puts Bible events into their proper perspective and makes the Word so much more understandable. If you haven't read the Bible chronologically, I urge you to do so, you won't be able to read the Bible any other way again.

This study guide follows The Bible Recap plan and follows up with questions that correspond with each day's reading. The format is very simple. It is broken down into weeks and then into days. Each day has 4-7 questions with space to write in the workbook, though I suggest using a separate notebook as there isn't much space for those of us who like expounding more. The questions themselves are thought-provoking and make you dig deeper into the text which is great. Many study guides ask very simple questions requiring little to no in-depth study.

I'm excited to use this study guide and will be recommending to others.

I received a complimentary copy of this workbook from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I went through The Bible Recap Bible reading plan this year, listening to the podcasts by Tara-Leigh Cobble. I appreciate going through the entire Bible in a chronological way with insights from her podcast. I am going through the Bible again next year but with some added study.

While I appreciate Cobble's podcast insights (they are really good), I also wanted to up my involvement a bit by doing some of my own research and thinking so I will be going through the Study Guide.

Cobble provides five study questions for each day. Some questions are fact finding and rather objective. Others require reflection and critical thinking. Some require you look up a word in a Bible dictionary or Hebrew or Greek lexicon. You may also want to have Bible maps handy. Fortunately, now one can find the information online and won't have to buy additional books. Cobble lists many free online resources at the beginning of this book.

This book is designed to specifically go through the chronological reading plan Cobble uses. An added feature is an index of days with the Scripture covered given. If one wanted to study a book separately from the reading plan, one could. It should be noted that some of the daily readings cover several Bible chapters so this is not a comprehensive study. Cobble will hit only the main points. It is a good tool for Christians just beginning to read the entire Bible through with a first layer of study. Plenty of space is given to record answers.

This is a good tool to help Christians stay engaged with the Bible on a daily basis. It could be used for discussion with friends although The Bible Recap has an additional book for that. This is definitely a good book to increase your understanding of God's Word.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

The Bible Recap Study Guide by Tara-Leigh Cobble is a valuable resource to coordinate with the Bible Recap series or as a stand alone tool. The Study Guide features a reading assignment, and questions to go along with the assignment. Questions vary from who wrote the particular book of the Bible, to or for whom was it written, when was it written, as well as a variety of other questions. The Bible Recap series goes has a podcast, and follows the Bible in a chronological order.

The Bible Recap Study Guide is a well developed study to the entire Bible. You do not need to start this in January, but rather users are encouraged to start with day one. This is a great too to use with a group or alone. I was given a free copy from the publisher for my honest review, which I was happy to do for this excellent resource.
