Ian Lake5 Stars Out Of 5Grwoing Deep in the Christian LifeOctober 31, 2016Ian LakeQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Growing deep in the Christian Life was a really good read which covered a lot of the biblical doctrines and was a really good practical book on theology written as a guidebook for how Gods word and doctrine apply to everyday life. It covered discernment about false teaching, our relationship with God, the lordship of Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, the problem of man's sin, the work of salvation, ,the second coming, the resurrection of the body, the life of the Church and worship. I really love reading Charles Swindoll's books and this was no exception. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to take a look at how living Gods way can help with life and it's problems.
Rev. Ron4 Stars Out Of 5Growing Deep in the Christian LifeMarch 19, 2015Rev. RonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Dr. Swindoll's wisdom is clearly revealed in this book. It is a good read; not filled with a lot of Greek words and theological terms, but written for the student of the word who does not have formal Christian Education. It is doctrinally sound and he makes the fundamental Christian Doctrines easy to understand. I would recommend it for the average saint.
Julius Egbeyemi5 Stars Out Of 5January 30, 2008Julius EgbeyemiI have only read the book half way, but could instantaneously say it's a refreshing book on Christian doctrine. I've always enjoy the way Charles Swindoll clearly and truthfully exposes scripture with captivating yet passionately revealing deep truth in the word of God. I'll recommend this book to anyone interested to know about the solid foundation on which the word of God is based especially those that are new to the christian faith. That's why I'm buying 2 copies right now, one copy for myself and the other for a dear friend. Get yourself a copy.
R. Greene5 Stars Out Of 5February 1, 2005R. GreeneExcellent! If you want to learn more about the doctrines of the Bible but find technical or "religious" exposition dry, then this is the book for you. Swindoll guides you through the foundational Biblical doctrines of Sin, Depravity, Salvation, Grace, etc with a common sense approach. With his warm style and impacting stories the doctines of the Bible are taught while allowing for the interest to be kept. As a student of Theology I found this book to be a refreshing look at the doctines of God without the jargon most often associated with other works on the subject. If you ever wanted to gain more insight on theology/doctrinal issues this is a must read.
