Publisher's Description

These ancient yet compelling stories, passed down from generation to generation, are as timeless as the lessons they teach. The scenes and people may change, but God and his Word do not. The lives of these Bible characters will inspire, challenge, and encourage you in your walk with God.

These stories add speculation as to what Bible characters were thinking. It adds to the drama, but you have to take into consideration that some things that are said are not in the Bible.

An example is in the story of Hagar. It mentions Hagar overhearing conversations that took place in the Bible. While this is possible, it is not mentioned in the Bible. The stories also add feelings of the characters which also would be speculation.

The stories are told in the order that the characters appear in the Bible. They are short enough that you could read them for Bible devotions at night. However, it would probably be more appropriate for Middle School or High School students which could lead to discussions of whether you think the characters would have thought that way or not.

I would not recommend the stories, but most of my friends are no longer raising children. I would not use them to teach Bible class (one of the reasons I decided to get the book) because I teach 1st & 2nd graders. These could be used for older classes as a discussion starter if you are teaching one of these characters. It would add some interest, I believe.
