*I received a complementary copy of this devotional in exchange for my honest review.

When I saw a book review opportunity come open for Louie Giglio's newest devotional for kids and read its description, I jumped at the chance to check it out! We thoroughly enjoyed his first devotional on God and science, which was entitled, "Indescribable", and this second installment in the series certainly did not disappoint.

If you are familiar with Giglio's presentation on laminin or his presentation on the stars and the sound of the universe, then you know why I was excited to check out this newest book! Louie is gifted in educating us on the amazing facts of the physical world which point repeatedly to the existence of God as Divine Creator and which reveal His fingerprints on everything. That is precisely what Louie continues to do in this new devotional for kids.

We live in an age in which our children are being bombarded by folks who disdain the idea of "creation" or a "Creator" and who don't beat around the bush when it comes to pushing their views of evolution. We're living in a time when yes, we need to first and foremost know the truths of God's Word ultimately, that is the most important thing. However, we also need to be well-versed in scientific facts, as well, and be able to present the truth of how, rather than negating the Bible, science actually repeatedly points to and confirms the truths of God's Word. This devotional is perfect for helping us attain that very goal with our kids.

Additionally, I believe that we need to stop falling prey to the evolutionary claims out there which lead us Bible-believing Christians to begin fearing "science". We don't need to fear science. No, we need to be embracing the study of the natural world. God created it and wants us to not only learn about it and discover its mysteries and miracles, but He also wants us to delight in and enjoy it, thereby giving Him glory in the process. This devotional is perfect for inspiring us and our kids in this area, as well.

Each of the 100 devotionals contains a passage of Scripture, a devotional thought about that passage and the area of science it corresponds to, a prayer, and an interesting scientific fact about a surprising animal, an interesting weather phenomenon, a strange plant, etc. Each devotional can be read and discussed in a matter of about 5 minutes, making it super easy to incorporate the daily reading of one or to also allow you to read several at once, if you want.

I highly recommend this devotional, and think you and your children will enjoy it and be as fascinated by it as I (and my almost-five-year-old) have been. It's perfect for the parent who wants to have their child's eyes opened to the wonders of God's Word and His creation, and it would likewise serve as an excellent supplementary science curriculum for the homeschool mom.

Either way, you are bound to come away inspired, encouraged, amazed, and excited after reading it!

Children's devotionals often are a compilation of Bible stories or portions of Bible stories and the lessons they teach on a level young children can understand. While learning about the key stories in the Bible and how we can learn to live our lives for God is important, it is quite refreshing to have a children's devotional that shows the child how the science of this world in which they are living connects them to the God of the Bible who is the Author and Creator of all things.

From learning how the butterfly is designed with "dust," that is actually scales, on their wings to how there is a design on their wings that tells predators they are poisonous.

Or in the devotional about God being our strong rock and fortress, the focus is on how we think the ground beneath our feet is solid and strong, yet it is constantly changing and can actually fail us in the form of sinkholes and other collapses. God is strong and never fails us.

I think this devotional will draw children to a closer relationship with God and that they will gain an understanding and appreciation for the World and Universe that God has created. I found it nice, too, that an index in the back of the book will help children locate these salient facts for when they wish to refer back to them. The Table of contents has cute, catchy titles.

    I highly recommend.

    MY THOUGHTS ON THIS DEVOTIONAL

We here the phrase How Great Is Our God all of the time, we sing the song, we talk about it, and now we have a devotional that kids can read about the greatness of our God. This Devotional has 200 indescribable devotions that go through the Bible with amazing stories of God. The devotions are on a child's level, they are short, there are pictures on the pages that go with what the kids are reading. Another thing with each devotion is a section that saysHOW GREAT.I think this section is great for the kids because it is a scientific fact about something that goes along with the devotions. Like one of the devotions talk about Butterflies and the scientific facts are about Butterflies. Which I found amazing because it's something I'd never heard! So you can see adults can benefit from this great book as well.

This is a really great book of devotions. The book itself is beautiful with its blue cover and the globe with all of the kids at different places in the world. And as you can see in the pictures that the inside is just as attractive, with pictures of kids and they are pictures that will capture any kids attention. If you are looking for a new devotions for the kids in your life, this would make an amazing Christmas gift or stocking stuffer! Though it says it's for ages 6-10, I know younger kids that would love these devotions read to them. As you can tell, I love this Devotional book, and I sure hope you love it as much as I do.

A copy of this book was given to me by the author or publisher. I am not required to write a positive review. The opinions here in this review are totally mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
