Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I have been married for forty years. We have been church planters and missionaries to France. We have four married children and six grandchildren. I am a Christian Counselor, former school teacher, women's ministry director and children's ministry director. The greatest joy in my life is spending time with our grandkids.

What was your motivation behind this project?   Both my husband and I realize that the next generation will face many challenges and believe that God is calling grandparents to stand in the gap for their granchildren. I hope that grandparents, and grandmothers in particular, will not only be encouraged to pray but will also find some helpful resources for sharing their own faith with their grandchild.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope they will be encouraged in their own walk with the Lord while gaining a clearer picture of the challenges faced by children today. I hope they will use the prayer guide to pray more specifically for the needs of children. I also pray that God will use the prayer of grandparents to usher in a renewal of faith in our churches.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  As I worked on this book, I came to realize anew that Scripture is applicable in every situation. God's Word is meant to be our guide and I was encouraged to find answers for the problems of families and children within its pages.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I love stories and believe that many of us learn best through the values and morals they teach. Philip Gulley is a favorite author. The writings of C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton have influenced my own Christian life greatly.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Our grandchilden are counting on our prayers. When we pray for them, they feel loved and cared for and it is an honor and privilege to play a role in their spiritual lives.
