Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Dear Grandchild, This Is MeSeptember 24, 2019Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love genealogy and family history so this is a book I am very excited about. I loved hearing stories from my parents and grandparents but some memories have faded over time and there is so much more I wish I had asked. This is a perfect opportunity to write down memories you wish to share and leave a legacy by sharing what you have learned over the years and teaching your grandchild about your values and faith.
Special Features:
* Built-in envelopes to stash special, private letters for specific occasions in your grandchild's future.
* A sheet of adhesive photo corners to adhere photographs and special memories throughout.
* Off-the-record questions to prompt fun stories.
* A family tree to trace your ancestry.
* Space to share your favorite recipes or those passed through the generations.
* A world map to showcase your travels.
Some of the questions are simple and straightforward. Others require a bit more thought. My one minor complaint is that there is too little room to answer some questions but you can always write more on paper and place it in one of the built-in envelopes.
The hardback book is beautifully illustrated and makes a perfect gift. Keep in mind, this is not a gift to give to a young child, but a wonderful keepsake to put aside for adulthood. This would be excellent to give to new or expectant grandparents so they could begin to write their memories and gather (or copy) special photos. Or, grandparents could buy one for each grandchild and began filling in the details as well as making each book uniquely personal.
I received an advanced readers copy of Dear Grandchild, This is Me for this review as part of the Waterbrook Launch Team. I was not required to write a positive review and all book review opinions are strictly my own. -

Lots of really interesting questions to answer for them. Love the quotes through out the book and the envelopes to leave notes to the grandkids when they hit certain times in their lives.

soccerkidsmomAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Must-have keepsake for grandkidsSeptember 15, 2019soccerkidsmomAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5DEAR GRANDCHILD, THIS IS ME is a fabulous hardcover book for a grandparent to write thoughts, answer question prompts, and post pictures in for their grandchildren to discover at a later date when their voice may be silenced and they have passed on. The colorful pictures add a delightful touch to the pages where grandparents can share favorite recipes, fill in a family tree, and paste pictures using the special photo corners included in the back of the book. You can write special letters and include them in the envelopes to encourage the grandchild at certain times in their lives, such as when they are making a new home or they need a reminder of how much you loved them. Quotes from famous people, Bible verses, and 'off the record' pages in which you answer random questions of your choice are also included for an added touch. Grandparents can fill in all kinds of personal information about themselves from their earliest childhood memories to tidbits about their heritage, their school years, where they've traveled, their favorite things in life, and many more personal things. Grandchildren lucky enough to receive a completed keepsake will treasure it and the writer's voice will live on as the book will surely be passed down to future generations.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5a gift of youSeptember 5, 2019tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I've seen and even purchased books similar to this one but the makeup and format of this one is by far my favorite. There is nothing better to leave your grandkids than your memories and life history. Such as my impressions seeing the moon landing live, watching news clips of the Vietnam war and the funeral of president John F Kennedy. How I met your Pop, high school events and favorite songs. There are envelopes throughout that can be used for special mementos or notes or letters to your grandchild. There's a place for your family tree and favorite photos, which I've got many! And as the front of the book says, "A gift of stories, wisdom, and off-the-record tales".
I interviewed and recorded my grandmother before she died and wrote up her story. I'll treasure it always. Otherwise her story would have left with her.
This is a great gift to leave each of your grandchildren. This could even be started before you have grandkids while some of your thoughts and memories are still fresh. Don't let your life story and wisdom be buried with you.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are my own. -
ThereadmasterDavenport,IowaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5wonderful ideaSeptember 5, 2019ThereadmasterDavenport,IowaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a fantastic idea for grandparents to give their grandchildren. This is like a baby book for a grandparent to fill out on themselves that they can then give to their grandchildren. I think this is a fantastic book. I love the sayings and what you can tell your grandchildren. I received a copy of this book from Waterbrook Multnomah for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
