Grades 1-6 in this MATH curriculum are great, but 7th and 8th grade require youtube videos

No, you heard me correctly...youtube videos. I was told by an ACE representative that I could find solutions to these problems on youtube videos. Not ACE created videos either....just random youtube videos. Good luck finding the exact problem you are working on! The answer keys, which up until now have included the solutions to problems, now only hold the answer. Apparently, according to an ACE rep, the solutions were removed to prevent student cheating. The score keys are designed so the student corrects his/her own work (although I score my children's work and highly recommend you do too). They removed the solutions as an attempt to cut down on cheating. I say, don't let the kiddos score their work and keep the solutions in. Unless you are an excellent math teacher and want to do an entire problem from start to finish so you can see where your child went wrong, and you don't mind surfing the web at least 2 hours extra a day, don't buy the 7th and 8th grade math books for this curriculum. You will not believe how tedious this is for even a former 4.0 student-now mother-to do. 7th and 8th grade curriculum is not something stored in most brains for a lifetime!!!

I have a son with autism, and we have used ACE's curriculum for years. He is behind in many subjects but a year ahead in math, and he is able to work through these workbooks with almost no help- despite reading comprehension issues that make other subjects challenging. Because the explanations for how to work the problems are included in the book, my son is able to figure out how to do them independently. Despite what one of the reviewers objected to, the answer key is designed to be used by the student, so there isn't any reason for the problem to be included in the answer key, and many of the more complicated problems include the method of solving it in the answer key.

This PACEs does not include the problem in the answer key, just the answer by itself. This is such an inconvenience because you have to use the students book in order to see the problem. You can't teach if you don't have the problem in the answer key. I will not use PACEs again because of this, unless they fix it with both the problem and the answer are included in the answer key. I guess they were trying to save money in printing cost, what a HUGE mistake. It doesn't deserve one star. I have also used PACEs grade 5 and 6 and the problems are complete with the answers in the key, which was good.
