Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum has Scripture as its foundation, fully integrating biblical principles, wisdom, and character-building concepts into education. Students move at their own speed through the self-instructional "PACE" workbooks. Following the mastery approach, PACEs are formatted for students to complete the exercises found throughout the workbook, take a practice "self test," and conclude with a "final test" (torn out from the center), to measure understanding.
This set includes Civics Grade 12 PACEs 1133-1138, which cover:
- The historical foundations of American Civics.
- The Biblical, Greek, Roman, and Anglo-Saxon governments; types of church governments; origins, structures, functions, and limitations of state and local governments.
- The reasons and results of the Reformation and the influence of the philosophies of the Enlightenment on today’s culture.
- Summary of the historical, social, and economic conditions that led to the Declaration of Independence; the Articles of Confederation; Constitution ratification; and the colonial and modern meaning of "separation of church and state."
- The structures and functions of the national government.
A variety of exercises help with review and retention. 30 pages each, paperback booklets. Grade 12. PACE 1133-1138.
Answers are not included, but are available in the sold-separately PACE Score Key Set.

Ida Horsler5 Stars Out Of 5Very informativeMarch 5, 2016Ida HorslerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a great course for high school students, and also for adults as a refresher course or folks such as myself who are not well educated on this subject. Two of my favorite features of this study is that the text and activity pac are separate, and there are several activities, such as essays and "think" questions, that encourage independent thought.

The content is fine, but they still employ the laziest form of student assessment imaginable--the fill-in-the-blank sentence taken directly from the text. This means your student is not asked to actually think, but to go on a little hunt for the right word. What a ridiculous way to make a self-guided workbook. My poor son was still doing this long after he should have been done. I looked at the one he was working on and asked him a question about the content. He explained the answer to me in detail, but could not find the right word from the book. Needless to say, he was frustrated. I looked and I couldn't find it either. I will be spending extra evenings making our own self-tests that accurately assess whether he is grasping the content or not. I will also be having plenty of discussions, and this was supposed to be the subject he did on his own this year. Don't buy this! It's perfectly awful.
