At this level, the Science and Social Studies paces are to be used after completing the ABCs with Ace and Christi. These are light in science and social studies topics and I choose to supplement in that area. These are important as readers with ABCs with Ace and Christi. At higher levels you can easily use these subjects as stand alone, but at this level it's useful to know that these are part of ACE's learning to read program.

I like this curriculum! The only thing I'm not impressed with is the science and social studies. It's almost like they are the same books. My daughter loves science and I wish it taught about the planets or human body or something. All in all I would use this curriculum again.

I decided not to use these with my daughter because they require the student to be able to read them. Since she is not reading full sentences yet, she cannot use them. Very nice colorful illustrations though. I wish they would redesign their first grade curriculum. Until then we will be sticking with Abeka.
