Christians have long loved devotionals, but todays Christians are also developing a strong love for fiction. They want to read stories about characters they can relate to, who experience situations similar to their own, and learn from those examples how to live out their faith. For them, life lessons are more easily absorbed this way.
21 Days of Grace fits all of these needs. It is a collection of engaging, inspirational short fiction stories written by new, intermediate, and well-known authors including Angela Hunt, Deborah Raney, Cindy Woodsmall, Cecil Murphey, Robin Bayne, and more.
Like Jesus parables, these stories deal with important life issues in a subtle, unpressured manner. And, as Jesus did, the authors follow up with life applications based on the stories, suggesting how the inherent lessons can be applied to the readers daily life.
Compiler and editor Kathy Ide has been a published author since 1989. She has written fiction and nonfiction books and is the author of Proofreading Secrets of Best-Selling Authors. She has ghostwritten ten nonfiction books and a series of five novels. She also writes columns of writing and editing tips for blogs and newsletters. This compilation includes stories from authors Angela Hunt, Deborah Raney, Cindy Woodsmall, Cecil Murphey, Robin Bayne, and more.

When Jesus wanted to get His point across, He often told a story. Stories touch hearts in a way like no other. 21 Days of Grace is a book that can do just that - touch and change hearts. Kathy Ide has collected 21 stories that speak about God's unconditional love. Each storyteller has a way of gripping your heart and getting their point across. 21 Days of Grace: Stories that Celebrate God's Unconditional Love compiled by Kathy Ide, 2015
A Fiction Lovers Devotional series, Book 1
Fictional stories followed by brief life applications written by best-selling Christian novelists and debut authors, including Angela Hunt, Cindy Woodsmall, and Deborah Raney. Great for individual or group study.
A hardcover devotional just the right size to take along with you for moments to read while you wait. Whether you are at the doctor's office or in a school zone picking up your child, you will find just the right time to read a devotional by a favorite or soon to be! author.
Grace ~ Grace ~ God's Grace
This is a compilation of sharings of how God has met them in their daily adventure. Twenty-one days of freedom to experience individually. These stories parallel the grace we have been given. Accepting it or placing focus only on what we have known, is the decision our choice will make ~ rejecting a burden to rely completely upon His love offered to us.
You will enjoy refreshing as you also re-read these devotions and apply them for yourself, beneficial to others! Seeing with new eyes, possibilities. Honoring another, receiving help given to you, when you usually fill a need you observe in others, allows them to give. A gift to both!
Each day has a life application and author introduction. There is a ribbon bookmark ready to keep your place. Short reads, but their reflective thought will stay with you. They would make a good around the table devotional for discussion over tea and scones, adding applicable Scripture examples with them. Any one of the day stories would be a good conversation opener for small gatherings to share life experiences where God has shown His grace.
This little book would make a nice tuck-in gift. You may even find a new author you would like to follow after reading their fiction story here that magnifies God's unconditional love for each of us in our daily life. A snippet that will tug at your heart and stay with you long after the day has begun.

Mrs ARS4 Stars Out Of 5Another Unique DevotionalMarch 30, 2017Mrs ARSQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 521 Days of Grace is another unique devotional that I have read this year. It is different in that it expresses truth through fiction. There are 21 stories written all by different authors so not only do you get a thought provoking read, but you also get a sample of each authors' writing. Most of the authors I had not read before but there were a handful that I had and it was pleasure to read them again.
The book is set up with the story, then we are given a life application, and last but not least we are given the authors' information. The stories are not long at all and I read most in less than 7-10 minutes. The book is very pretty with bright, vibrant colors and adorned with a butterfly. There is also a butterfly motif that is sprinkled throughout the book that I think makes this book even more special. What can I say; I like butterflies as they make me think of spring.
I think this is a nice little collection of stories and a unique enough devotional that would make a nice gift especially for readers.
I received a copy of this book for free. I was not required to give a positive review and the views and opinions expressed are my own.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a professional freelance editor and writers conference speaker. I'm the author of Proofreading Secrets of Best-Selling Authors and the compiler for 21 Days of Grace (and the other upcoming books in the Fiction-Lovers Devotional series). I am also the founder and director of two organizations for editorial freelancersThe Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network (TheChristianPEN.com) and the Christian Editor Connection (ChristianEditor.com). Find out more about me on my website, KathyIde.com.
What was your motivation behind this project? I love Christian fiction! In addition to being entertained by the stories and characters, I always get something out of a Christian novel that applies to my faith and my everyday life. But with my busy schedule, reading an entire novel is often a bit of a challenge. And it doesn't seem right to read a novel during my quiet times with the Lord. I love the idea of being able to read short fiction stories, with life applications written by the authors, as part of my devotional time.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I know readers will enjoy these engaging stories. And I hope they will glean something from the stories and the life applications that will touch their hearts, strengthen their faith, and change their lives in some way. These books are an excellent opportunity for fiction lovers to read short stories written by authors they already love and also to sample the writings of fiction authors they haven't read before but who may become new favorites.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I've loved connecting with best-selling authors, multi-published authors, newer writers, and aspiring writers. God has spoken to my own heart as I've read many of their stories and life applications.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Too numerous to list or even count! Of course I love all the authors who contributed to this fiction-lover's devotional. I am also grateful to my agent, Diana Flegal, and my publisher, BroadStreet Publishing, for making this long-time dream happen.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I encourage you to visit our website, FictionDevo.com, or our Facebook page, facebook.com/fictiondevo. If one or more of the stories you read in a Fiction-Lover's Devotional has touched your heart in some way, you can post about it there. And you can read about how others have been moved by the stories.
