Grace and following Christ are two sides of the same coin. Partially in response to the message laid out in Not a Fan, Idleman expounds upon the dangers of living the intentional Christian life without the grace of God as an essential component. Grace is Greater examines what grace looks like on a practical level as well as offers to set it free (or let is flow) in order to experience forgiveness, both as a giver and receiver. Idleman highlights three broad categories in which grace is greater: mistakes, hurts, and circumstances. By God's great grace we no longer have to live with regrets, we simply turn them over to God. In return we experience healing and redemption. There are certainly lessons to be learned from this book, but many of the problems with the application is exactly that: It must be applied. This book may highlight our need for God's grace, but it is also His grace which enables us to respond. It is taken from God and given to others. Only then will God's grace be seen by the world as truly greater than anything this world has to offer. On a personal note, this is probably not his best work. It seems like he uses far more biting sarcasm than previous works, but he does balance this out by pointing out his shortcomings, many of which are reproachful. So there are many redeemable qualities within these pages. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
muffinHonea Path, SCAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Best Book on Grace!April 23, 2017muffinHonea Path, SCAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Grace is Greater by Kyle Idleman is the best book I've ever read on grace. And I've read a lot of books on grace! This book will make you laugh and cry (sometimes within the same paragraph)! Kyle shares true stories from his own life while also giving some basic and practical help throughout the text. Grace is one of the greatest things bestowed on us, yet so many times, we are hesitant to accept and show it. Kyle shows us how we can do this. He also stresses forgiveness and how important this is in the Christian life. There were so many quotes I loved throughout this book. I have highlighted so many great parts. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. It will truly change your life. It has changed mine! I received this book from Baker Books for my honest opinion.

Just when I needed to forgive someone, Grace Is Greater came to my rescuea very timely read indeed.
The author's willingness to be vulnerable by sharing almost everythingnot leaving out the ugly parts of his storiesis commendable. I especially love his humor, which is sprinkled on random parts of the book, so random that I would find myself smiling then crying; praying then crying; and crying then smiling again during the entire read.
I can't believe I finished reading the book in its entirety in just two-weeks time. That's how engaging it has been! Turning its last page was a bittersweet moment.
The grace stories included in this book are moving and amazing at the same time because they're all real. Reading this book made me recall the grace I've experienced in my own life through the years.
I recommend this writing to people who want to know more about grace, especially to those who want to appreciate grace more than ever.
With the author, I'll echo: Grace is greater!
