Tell us a little about yourself. I am a wife and grandmother. I am studying to become ordained in the Wesleyan Denomination. I have a BA in Leadership and Ministry from Ohio Christian University. I live in an upstate New York town called Hornby. It is outside the city of Corning, NY. I have a full-time job as a City Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. I love the outdoors, walking, gardening and photography!
What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation was my heart for people and seeing what God's grace can do in a person's life! I would see others in their everyday lives and Scriptures and positive phrases of encouragement would pop into my head and I would have to write them down on little pieces of paper as they came quick and often. I wrote a daily encouragement everyday on Facebook to combat the negativity of everyday life and I blogged about the joyful, grace-filled everyday life that I had experienced. When I went back to school and had to write papers, some of my professors gave me words of encouragement to write. I collected these papers and blogs and put them in a notebook and one of my children saw it and encouraged me to write a book.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Seeing hurt people trying to get along without God's grace is heart wrenching. I wanted to tell people that your life doesn't have to be lived on the negative side. God's grace is the soothing salve for everything!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing this book impacted me in taking me deeper into love with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my compassion for others has increased! I have grown closer to Him! I see Him in everything! He is my Everything! I want to share Him with everyone!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My influences in faith is my special needs daughter who loves others as Jesus does, my mom whose faith is unwavering, my sister who is my best friend and accountability partner. I like the way Beth Moore brings her books and bible studies down to a choice of the heart in terms that are theologically sound but in a way that seekers and growers are hungry for more.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: This is my first book and more to come on the goodness of God and the grace, joy and peace He has for everyone for their everyday lives as He knows what our lives are faced with each day!
