Surely this chapter is the most remarkable chapter in the Old Testament. I remember when we were in Israel

and the guide told us that Isaiah 53 is banned by most Rabbi's. It seems to bring about much confusion.

Israel did not die for Israel.....Messiah did. I had my sweet Jewish friend, read this chapter to me and she was half the

way through, and stopped and looked at me and said, "Oh this is about Jesus." With tears in my eyes, I replied

Yes, it is." 1st Corinthians 5:7 says, "For even, Messiah, our Passover, is sacrificed, FOR US." Behold the Lamb

of God. Isaiah 53:10 shows us that this was God's plan. 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, " For the preaching of the cross

is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved, it is the POWER of God." !!!

God has used this book to put me (anew) in awe of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I hardly know what to say due to the richness I have found in every chapter. As MacArthur expounds the Isaiah 52:13-53:12 passage in it's context I have seen the Servant Jesus and the glorious gospel in a way that makes me feel the way I did when I first experienced God's love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Of course it's not about feelings for this passage is truth but what a joy to have it before me in such a vibrant way (since reading this exposition). Read this book! Read it thoughtfully. Read it with an open Bible before you, but read this book.

I received this book as a free gift from Dr.John MacArthur's team at Grace To You. I love Dr.John MacArthur's writing, sermons and ministry and I have over 35 of his books. When I received the offer to get this book for free, I was elated because my financial situation wasn't great and I knew I wouldn't be able to afford to buy the book when it finally released, so getting it for free was a huge blessing.

This book, like all of Dr.John MacArthur's books, is heavy in theological truth. It's an in depth study of Isaiah 52:13-53-12 which is God's prophecy through Isaiah about the coming Messiah, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Just like Dr.MacArthur's book "The Parables", he peals back layer after layer within this brief Biblical passage and gives amazing insight into what is arguably the greatest chapter in the entire Old Testament.

Dr.MacArthur's ability to write in such a simple way that even a 12 year old could understand while at the same time expounding on deep Biblical truths is, as always, edifying and humbling. The Gospel According to God is the best of all his "Gospel According To..." books in my opinion and everyone should read it.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. It's that great.

Praise the Lord for Dr.John MacArthur's ministry and dedication to Biblical truth!
