Tell us a little about yourself. As a father of five children, I love family
life. Although our kids
are grown now, we're enjoying the fun of
grandparenting. We
founded the National Center for Biblical
Parenting to provide
family-strengthening resources for churches and
parents. You

What was your motivation behind this project? I'm very grateful for my parents who taught me
what honor was
in their relationship with each other and with
us as kids. When
my wife and I got married we wanted to have
honor in our home
and our five kids provided many opportunities to
test out the
ideas.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The concept of honor has helped me see the
difference between
families that are mediocre and those that are
successful. We
wrote this book after doing a four-year study on
honor in the
Bible and in life and were excited to write it
all down. We've
applied honor to sibling conflict, teenagers,
parental discipline,
and just teaching kids how to be successful in
life. We believe
that God has hidden success principles within
honor. That's why
he commanded that honor be learned in family
life.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I'm very grateful for my parents who taught me

us as kids. When

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: We have four goals when approaching parenting
problems. Be
bibilcal, practical, focus on the heart, and
look for adult
solutions to children's problems. These goals
help us stay on
track in providing parents with the most
effective parenting
solutions. We're always on the lookout for more
