Wandas ancestors were part of the Anabaptist faith, and her novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Her books are well-read and trusted by many Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.
When Wanda visits her Amish friends, she finds herself drawn to their peaceful lifestyle, sincerity, and close family ties. Wanda enjoys photography, ventriloquism, gardening, bird-watching, beachcombing, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Richard, have been blessed with two grown children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy inspirational Amish fiction. Just realize that Goodbye to Yesterday is the first of six parts and therefore short.
This was a wonderful heartwarming story wrapped around love and family values. Im a first-time reader of Ms. Brunstetter and Im so happy I picked this book up. Im now a new fan among her legion of many followers.

I got the Spring book free, and started looking at the others and found the same "novella" situation. I too on a fixed income (retired) and must wisely choose my selections.
Also, the first book doesn't seem to be offered in ebook format?

Luke put money aside while he was working, but after months of not finding a different job, they start to worry about their finances. The stress puts pressure on the couple. One day Luke gets a call from his uncle in Indiana. His uncle wants to sell his business and offers to sell it to Luke and teach Luke the new trade. Luke travels by bus to his uncles in the winter and the weather is bad. While eating at a diner during one of the bus stops, Luke is seen by a homeless drug addict, who recognizes Luke as being Amish and thinks Luke would be an easy target.
Goodbye to Yesterday is the first of six parts in The Discovery saga written by Wanda E. Brunstetter. I really like this book. It was a easy book to read in one evening. Even though it is a short book, 121 pages, it is a very good story and you want to go right on to book 2 to see what happens.
When I first got this series I was disappointed with the size of the books. But they do make a great book to carry in the purse to read while waiting for appointments. I purchased this series as a set on sale so the price was really good.
