Countless believers are pursuing spiritual growth, only to repeatedly find themselves spinning their wheels and making no progress. Many are driven to just try harder. Others feel a growing sense of failure and distance from God. But for all involved, it's a frustrating cycle. What can we do when trying harder isn't working?
Author and pastor Alan Kraft invites us to be still.still enough to hear the twin melodies that comprise the good news of the gospel-brokenness and faith. These core strains have the power to lift our exhausted heads so we may experience life to the full as Jesus promised.
Discover the power of a broken spirit, embrace the wonder of living by faith, and experience the joy found when you just stop trying.

Deanna Zuhlke5 Stars Out Of 5May 7, 2010Deanna ZuhlkeI'd recommend that every believer read this book. When I finished reading my copy I called CBD and ordered several more to give away. Excellent!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

This is not a book you read through and put on the shelf. You prayerfully answer the questions at the back of the chapter.

Jeff5 Stars Out Of 5December 28, 2008JeffIt was the strangest thing--I was in a Family Christian Bookstore, not looking for anything particular, and walking through the aisle, this book just stuck out at me. I didn't read much of it, but something inside me said, "read this. you need it." So I picked it up.Alan is an incredibly insightful man, it must be nice to go to his church and hear him speak. He did a great job of searching God's word for the answers to a question that is desperately in need of answering: how do we please God?I recommend this to anyone who is a Christian, whether you're tired or not. But especially for people who are worn out and feel like they're not getting anywhere.I'm not even done with it, and it's already the most helpful book I've ever read.
