Tell us a little about yourself. Benjamin F. Herbest was born 1980, in the coastal town of Belfast, Maine. He currently lives in Newburgh, Maine with his wife, Malissa and 4 children. Benjamin grew up in hardship through trauma, a broken home and bullying at an early age. He joined the US Army National Guard in 2002, went to college at the University of Maine in 2006 and made a career in Mental Health in 2010. He is an OIF II Veteran of the Middle Eastern Conflict. Benjamin now serves as a volunteer in his community, works with children of all age groups, ministers to people, and counsels with those in need. His hope is that children will be able to heal through any trauma that they have experienced in life by hearing his books and applying them to their lives.
What was your motivation behind this project? This book was inspired by the authors visions as he overcame his childhood nightmares. "Good Dreams Now", is a story of how a boy and his Dad saw an opportunity to look past the bad dreams and look to the Light that was before them. "Good Dreams Now" is the first book of the series, "The Helper Helps". The Helper will show children how to overcome and live peaceably in a very shaky World.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want to help children overcome their fears, traumas, life issues. I want to share the peace of the Helper, the Holy Spirit to all. This is why this book, "Good Dreams Now" is the first book in the series, "The Helper Helps".
