Tell us a little about yourself. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and a University Professor who is passionate about helping couples restore struggling and often failing marriages
What was your motivation behind this project? Our culture is experiencing a divorce rate the hoovers at 50% with those in the church experiencing the same rate or higher. This indicates that as a body of believers, we have not figured out how to best address this unraveling of couples and families. This desire to help reverse this trend motivated this particular project.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that this book will arm couples with new tools to aid them in restoring there marriages to places of health. My desire is that couples would begin to experience the marriages that they dreamed of when they said "I do."
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Working on this project brought me face to face with many hurting couples. It increased my compassion for those wanting to work to save their marriages. Yet, at the same time, I was able to see how God's grace is able to take individuals from the carnage of divorce and renew them. God still has great plans for those who willingly come to Him and learn to do life differently.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Some of my favorites authors in this arena are Gary Chapman and Bill Butterworth.
