Sooner or later our children will ask if they can be baptized. This book is such a great guide in studying the importance of baptism with your child. It's not about the author's opinion. It's about searching God's words to find the answers. The author, Laurie Donahue created a workbook to allow children to find the answers themselves. With your guidance, of course. There are 93 pages; black and white cartoon illustrations by Ralph Rittenhouse. In the back of the book, there is a place for children to write down their own notes; a Certificate of Baptism to celebrate this memorable day; a list of things they will need to take like a change of clothes, brush and things. There are crossword puzzles, verses to study and review questions at the end of the book. Packed full of information you and your children will find in the Bible.

chelseaindianaIndianapolis, IN4 Stars Out Of 5Great book for OLDER childrenFebruary 14, 2012chelseaindianaIndianapolis, INQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This book is a great resource for OLDER children. I think the book would work best for children ages 10 - 12. I recently went through the text with a few 8 year olds and it was a little too tricky for them.
The workbook is definitely challenging (I even struggled answering some of the questions) and any child able to make it through the book will certainly be ready for baptism. Because the book is very lengthy, it is not the best fit for those with shorter attention spans. My students, who I consider to be very studious and apt to finish something to completion, struggled to finish a chapter a week.
All in all, I think this is a great tool - but I do not think it is appropriate for children younger than 4th grade.
