In this powerful and deeply vulnerable book, Beth Redman writes to pass along a message that changed her lifethat the God who made us also understands us intimately and proclaims our worth by naming us and calling our name. He hears our cries and reaches out to help us and fight for us. He knows our past but is already hard at work shaping our futurehelping us, defending us, and restoring the damage life has done. And no matter what others do, our heavenly Father will never, ever leave or forget us.
Drawing on Scripture and her own experience, Redman invites us to explore the revolutionary implications of being loved by a God who knows our name. And she invites us to call on His name as wellto respond to His heart and love Him as He has loved us from the beginning.
Redman shows her vulnerability by being open about her past. She also uses everyday examples and issues, thereby making it easy to relate to her. By intertwining her experiences and teachings, Redman creates such an atmosphere of security in which anyone would feel safe to make a confession without fear of judgment.
In her book, Redman discusses how intimately God knows us. She demonstrates this, as well as backing up her title, by using Isaiah 43:1, which says I have summoned you by name; you are mine. She says that God not only knows our name and doesnt forget us, but he also knows our past, character, and choices as well. Despite all this, he still helps us, protects us, and brings restoration in the midst of our brokenness. Redman supports all her points with Scripture and biblical accounts.
God Knows My Name is a truly encouraging and uplifting book that has the power to influence womens lives positively. Women of various ages will be able to come away from this having collected a piece of treasure. I would highly recommend this powerful and influential book to any woman. She shares what God thinks about us in light of scripture and how we can know that God KNOWS our name!
Her personal sharing ranges from down right hysterical to heart-wrenching. I appreciate her friend-to-friend approach and honesty through out this uplifting volume. While it is not the easiest book to read, and can seem a little disjointed at times, I still recommend it for those struggling with the love of God and their identity in Christ. Beth feeds women theology in a personal and applicable manner and anyone will find encouragement in these pages.

Janna RyanNorth Platte, NEAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Very goodOctober 1, 2010Janna RyanNorth Platte, NEAge: 35-44Gender: femaleI love when a non-fiction book comes along that really speaks to me and as I'm reading it I can think of people to recommend it to. God Knows My Name is just such a book. I have actually done a lot of study on this particular subject, what makes this book worthy of recommendation above some others I've read is how easy to read and understand it is. It clearly lays out who you are in Christ and what you mean to Him backed by lots of great scriptures and stories all by an amazing woman of God. I would recommend this to new Christians or those who have been Christians most of their lives - it will benefit all of us.
i blog 4 books4 Stars Out Of 5September 13, 2010i blog 4 booksGod Knows My Name: Never Forgotten, Forever Loved by Beth Redman is a phenomenal book. The entire purpose of the book is to teach us "that the God who made us also understands us intimately and proclaims our worth by naming us and calling our name." It is evident that Beth has learned this message for herself. She shares bits about her past that expose the hurt she endured and ultimately how the amazing power of God has transformed her life. Every point she makes is from Scripture, which makes the book even stronger. The primary points Redman makes are evident in the chapter titles: God Knows My Name, God Knows My Past, God Shapes My Character, God Sees My Choices, God Has Not Forgotten Me, God Is My Helper, God Is My Defender, and God Is My Restorer. At times the book seems a bit simplistic. However, after reading the entire book, I feel like each word is a product of Beth's journey to restoration and is completely heartfelt. The simplicity makes it seem more possible, if that makes sense.I was thoroughly challenged and encouraged by this book. Several times I thought, "This is just what I need right now."A complete study guide in the back makes this ideal for group study or for more in-depth individual study.I received a free copy of this book from The B&B Media Group in exchange for my fair and honest review.

abbie5 Stars Out Of 5July 18, 2010abbieOh, my! This is a powerfully poignant book and study. Be prepared to go on a journey of a life-time! Beth lays open her heart and the rawness of the wounds of the lies of the enemy. Through her personal testimony Beth takes readers down the road of healing she experienced by laying out the scripture revealed to her on this journey. I do not believe that there is a woman that could not benefit from the reading of this book. We have all been wounded deeply by the enemy and often the deepest and hardest to heal wounds are inflicted by those closest to us those most familiar with our weaknesses and able to penetrate our toughest defenses. Through scripture she reminds us that we are each known by name by the creator of the universe created for a divine purpose and plan. By replacing lies with truth Beth shows readers how to live a life victorious in Christ. Have a box of Kleenex ready, be prepared to be broken, poured out, and then made more beautiful through the love of Christ. I believe many lives will be changed because of the obedience of Beth Redman to share an intimate and personal testimony of her life. My prayers are with her as I am sure the enemy does not like the fact that the Living Word of God has been so plainly spoken in such a manner as this. I would love to put this book in the hand of every woman in our congregation.Thank you B&B Communications for this review copy.
