Publisher's Description

Warning This book forcefully challenges doctrines concerning marriage, divorce, and remarriage that have been taught for over eighteen hundred years, ever since the church rejected our Jewish heritage The author's conviction: ?For too long, the church has been judge, jury, and persecutor of divorc?s?the exact opposite of what Jesus and the Apostles taught and lived ? The church's treatment of divorc?s? Modern day ?shunnings, ? the Eucharist withheld, remarriage denied, lifetime celibacy demanded, leadership opportunities refused, and some are excommunicated all together. Citing authorities from this and past centuries, Nobles presents a conscientiously thorough, insightful, and revolutionary message of biblical grace and truth that deserves to be heard by every Christian pastor, priest, teacher, and counselor Liberating and yet convicting, academic and yet inspirational, spiritual and yet down-to-earth, God is a Divorcee Too will help you define or redefine what you really believe. And then you will want others to read it?your pastor and every divorc? or child of divorce whom you love.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am an evangelist and teacher with a MA in Missiology from Regent University and have served the body of Christ for over ten years through the Prayer Counseling Center at CBN and the 700 Club. I am happily married to the wife of my youth since 1988. And we are blessed with four children. Neither my wife nor I have ever been divorced but both come from broken homes. Thus we have an intimate knowledge of the long-term problems caused by divoce. And yet God has used this misfortune as a fertile seedbed to cultivate the dynamic principles shared in my book. The fruit of which, I believe, will strengthen marriages and free divorcees from hypocritical religious condemnation and negative emotional and psychological baggage.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Many years ago I reviewed all of the major doctrines that I had been taught since childhood. The doctrine of marriage and divorce was one that I invested significant time researching. I came to believe that the traditional doctrine is tragically wrong in several areas. But I could not reconcile my new beliefs with Jesus' words concerning divorce. Then a little over three years ago I was given information that radically changed my understanding of what Jesus said. This instigated several more months of research and a couple of years of writing, resulting in "God Is A Divorce Too!"

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  A biblical understanding of marriage, divorce, and remarriage. I forcefully challenge the traditional doctrine. For too long the church has been judge, jury, and persecutor of divorcees-- the exact opposite of what Jesus and the Apostles taught and lived. Did you know that the Apostle Paul specifically says that a divorced person does not sin if he marries again? Not only that, but Jesus did not repudiate the bill of divorce but explained the reason it was needed, because of the hardness of heart and to stop an ancient near eastern sadistic cultural practice oppressing women.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  It is my prayer that this book will bring freedom into the lives of thousands of divorcees and deliver the church from a doctrine of demons.
