excellent book on evil and suffering

Another Randy Alcorn booklet I've recently read is If God is Good: Why Do We Hurt? A few years ago Megan purchased the 500-page version for me, but it continues to be a part of a stack of books I've yet to tackle. I was able to read the 75-page booklet on a recent trip, and if you desire to have a better understanding about the hurts of the world, Randy Alcorn can provide you the answers to this not so fun topic. As in previous books I've read by Mr. Alcorn, you'll find his answers supported by pages of Scripture. This is a wonderful little read. Josh McDowell is an excellent author and does a great job of explaining why we have hurt and crime and ..... in the world. We have decided to keep this booklet on hand always at our church.

In a day when so many churches teach health and prosperity and ignore scriptural teaching on the reality of pain, sin and suffering in a fallen world, this book is a life line for Christians struggling with these issues.

I gave these booklets to nearly 50 folks this Christmas - have heard from most and they were so excited to get grounded in the Biblical, Godly answer to this most asked question: If God is good, why do we hurt? I ordered several copies of the larger edition hardback book - have so enjoyed reading it as a Bible teacher and as a child of God! Randy Alcorn has provided believers with Biblical and comforting truth throughout - much appreciation for our wonderful, all-wise God in any circumstance we find ourselves in. HE is good - all the time - in good times and difficult times!! Great book - grateful to Alcorn - highly recommend.
