NGF1 Stars Out Of 5Both the Catholic and Protestant Churches consider this book occulticNovember 3, 2017NGFQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0God Calling was written by two "listeners" who were practicing automatic writing when they supposedly received direct messages from Our Lord. Just because a book contains Scripture passages doesn't make it a good book. After all, the use of Scripture to fool Christians is one of the devil's oldest tricks -- he used it on Christ Himself! (Luke 4) The method they used involved sitting down with paper and pencil and letting the mind go blank, then writing down anything that flashed across it. Pastor Harold T. Commins said, "This idea of 'guidance' is false to the Scriptures. Sitting down with paper and pencil in hand and letting the mind go absolutely blank and then writing down whatever flashes across the mind as God's orders for the day is beyond anything promised or sanctioned in Scripture. Indeed this passivity of mind is a very perilous condition to be in, for it is precisely at such moments that Satan gains control and does his devilish work." The good thoughts and inspiring statements attributed to Christ in God Calling often are combined with faulty theology and the misinterpretation of Scripture. True communications from the Living Christ would not have these defects. I don't know why CBD had chosen to carry this book!
AllisonOceanside, CAAge: 45-54Gender: Female1 Stars Out Of 5ZERO starsJune 10, 2017AllisonOceanside, CAAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This is New Age garbage. Run away from it! Please read ONLY the Holy Bible. While this book seems well intentioned, and many of the feel-good ideas sound pleasant and beneficial, it is NOT appropriate for Christians to channel anything, even an entity presenting itself to be the God of the Bible. It is actually an unclean spirit/demon feeding ideas to the author. God warns us to stay away from anything like this (consulting with familiar spirits and practicing witchcraft/sorcery).
Any book other than the Bible that claims to be the inspired word of God is a wicked fraud, evil hoax, and lie-filled heresy. If you truly love and trust in the real Jesus who created everything and died for our sins, please don't even read a few words of this book or any similarly "inspired" book (such as "A Course in Miracles" or "Conversations with God").
Jeremy1 Stars Out Of 5New Age Work of FictionMay 21, 2017JeremyQuality: 0Value: 1Meets Expectations: 0The use of "spirit writing" or "automatic writing" should immediately send Christians running. The fact that CBD actually sells this is mind boggling. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

Lilli5 Stars Out Of 5God CallingAugust 24, 2014LilliQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"God Calling" is one of my favorite books. I've read it over a dozen times. I don't like being stuck on a certain page, so I read 5 pages at a time. However, I may read those 5 pages for 3 or more days in a row if I need to. I have more than 50 tabs in it and it is underlined all over the place.
Sometimes I am so stressed out, but when I hang on to some of the passages through out the day, they keep me calm.
I'm glad they use dates rather than page numbers. At least I know if I refer someone to a passage, the
date won't change, where a page number might with a different printing.
I usually buy these 5 or 10 at a time and give them as gifts.
