I notice other reviewers who have singled out one particular "Bride of the West" as being the best, the favorite, but I so enjoy each one, I don't think I could pick a best! Watching Glory grow and develop from a very sheltered, ignorant girl into an open, trusting, faithful woman of God was pure delight. She and the other orphans could relate to each other and give and receive love from each other without pride or pity getting in the way, and Glory was able to learn so much from them - from sewing and cooking to faith in God. Jackson was a lovely hero/protector, a gentleman and a man of faith, with his own issues of bitterness and forgiveness to deal with. It was fun and entertaining and serious all at once - a great read.
I loved reading the first three mail-order-brides from Lori (Faith,June and Hope), but I have to say that Glory was very dissapointing. The story draged for way too long, picking it up and giving a real feel of romance and adventure to the book only on the last 3 chapters. The end was still sweet though.
