Tell us a little about yourself. I am currently majoring in Rhetoric/Writing with a minor in Political Science. I have been in the nursing profession in long-term care for twenty years. I enjoy my family, studies, and writing.
What was your motivation behind this project? I would say this was the turning point in my life. I would describe it as the turning point in pursuing my potential. Ultimately, my professor, Mrs. Noble was the true motivation. This memoir is in her memory and I want to keep her memory alive many years to come through my memoir.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope people will see how God moves in our lives in unusual ways. This memoir is designed for a versatile audience. For example, it may help some deal with grief, appreciate people and not take brief encounters with them for granted. Some readers may enjoy the professor/student relationship, others the Christian perspective, and because the storyline is about a research project on the Cold War during the Reagan/Gorbachev years - another audience may read it for political/historical content.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Gloria Noble had a mighty profound impact on my life. I had struggled with speech most my life, and Mrs. Noble gave me the encouragement to pursue a writing degree. This memoir contains details that profoundly reflect how God puts special people in our lives for a reason. God puts people on our paths daily. However, there may be a once in a lifetime opportunity He puts two people on each other's paths at a moment in time unlike anything I've experienced before. Gloria a Student's Memoir of Intended Paths reveals that unforgettable encounter.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Bible is my ultimate source of Inspiration. Other sources of inspiration include favorite authors, Max Lucado, Mitch Albom, Andy Andrews, Beth Moore, and Rita Davenport.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hope you'll enjoy reading Gloria a Student's Memoir of Intended Paths. It is in Mrs. Noble's memory. Keep in mind, it's written with an upbeat style with some humor...I think she would like it that way. It captures the moment and concludes with a heartfelt ending. My hopes are it will keep readers Looking Up to what's important in life...trusting God and recognizing His plan for our lives.
