From globalization to the digital revolution, secularization to the great recession, change has never happened so fast and wide and deep as we have seen in recent years. The nature of information and the speed with which it travels is unparalleled, and it is changing our world in seismic ways that reach into every crevice of our lives. It's as if the tectonic plates of society and culture are being torn apart and reshaped right under our feet. We are living through a cultural "GLOBEQUAKE."
How should we respond as families? In business? Through our churches?
With the hope and stability found not on this shifting ground but in the one who created the heavens and earth, says pastor and best-selling author Wallace Henley. Drawing from his experiences in politics and journalism plus his deep biblical knowledge, Henley's analysis is clear, insightful, and thought provoking. There is no alarmist agenda here. Globequake is a well-reasoned guide to navigating the spheres of our lives in a godly manner, even as those spheres wobble on their axes.
"Globequake looks at current events and puts them in the context of the larger prophetic picture." ?Cal Thomas, syndicated and USA Today columnist, and Fox News contributor.

By Wallace Henley
Biblically based, practical strategies to stabilize your life, church, home, school, government, and business during global turmoil.
People across the globe sense something big is shaping up. The anxiety is over the fact that they don't know what. Global collapse? Fiery wars? Worldwide depression? It's as if the tectonic plates of society and culture are being reshaped right under our feet! Turbulence and change have gone viral, and can only be described as a "globequake." How can we be stable personally and anchor our families, schools, governments, churches, and businesses in the middle of such upheaval?
How can I protect my children from all the thunderous change?
Who can I trust for leadership in the pulpit, in the schoolroom, in the courthouse, in the CEO's office?
Where is God in the middle of this upheaval?
The good news is that behind the anxiety-stirring uncertainties about the future there are wonderful, strong certainties given by the Lord of history himself! Globequake presents answers to the troubling questions with solid biblical truth on which we can ground our lives when the times are shifting at what seems like light-speed.
One such "Globequake" we can turn to is that of the attack and destruction of the Twin Towers on 9/11. How many of us thought that that was signalling the end of the world as we know it.
One thing we can count on if we are Saved, and have accepted Christ as our Savior, is that He will provide and protect us. His Kingdom is unshakeable

While I have to admit that there is very little NEW material presented in Wallace Henley's Globequake, despite his frequent referral to present news-happenings, I do appreciate how he is able to blend his vast experience with Biblical principles to make for a very readable overview of how the different facets of our lives are affected by current events. Most importantly are his suggestions for stabilizing those various areas of life by adhering to sound Biblical teachings. Perhaps the most appealing aspect of Henley's book is his approachability: the way he is able to provide practical real-world examples, both personal and professional, which establish his credibility and support his assertions. It felt a bit slow at times, but he adeptly re-summarizes throughout -- his ideas build upon one another, and yet come full circle: always with Jesus as the beginning and the end, as well as the Center. The fact that this book's overall message isn't surprising doesn't make its conclusions any less true. It's not something that will prompt me to rave about it, but I will definitely return to it from time to time, until that Time when the Globequake has finally settled down_.

onedesertroseSt. Paul, MNAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5How to live in an unshakeable kingdom.August 17, 2012onedesertroseSt. Paul, MNAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Wallace Henley has extensive experience in politics, journalism, and the church. In his book, Globequake, Henley draws on this experience to give a purposeful meaning and hope during this crucial time of upheaval globally, when the earth is shaken to its core. He's not an alarmist or a naysayer regarding the issues at hand. His goal is to present Godly solutions to help stabilize not only the economy, but the church and families as well.
This book analyzes man's idea of how the earth and nations exist, change or dissolve versus how the earth and nations really interact with God. He is the ultimate One in control and man must align himself with God to prevail.
His book is divided into three parts:
THE GLOBEQUAKE: The Globequake and the New Normal; How Time Works; The Unshakeable Kingdom; Standing Like a Stone Wall; The Kingdom and the Spheres
STABILIZING THE SPHERES: The Spheres of Person; Church; Family; Education; Government; Business-Marketplace
HOPE: Hope Sought, Hope Found
I found Henley's book very comprehensive and yet not Pollyannaish. He examines the difficult powers and strongholds that are in place, but he also gives practical ways around those barriers. Part One of the book is the basis for the balance of the book. Part Two hits on the specific areas of our lives that are hit when a globequake starts shaking our world apart. This is where the practicality is brought to light for our home, schools, churches, businesses and even government. Part Three shows you where the hope is and how to get to it.
This book is filled with the most practical, God-centered solutions in any book I've read to-date, minus the Bible, of course. It's for every walk of life. And its center is the Word of God and His principles put into practice and lived out in our lives-faith and trust in Him and His unshakeable Kingdom despite the globequakes that come. That ââ¬Ëunshakeableness' comes only from the person of Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him-a heart change from within. Though intercessory prayer is not mentioned in the book, I believe that is also an essential part of the solutions delineated here.

People are seeking security in a world gone wild. Our planet is in worldwide turbulence. It's a Globequake. It is as if the tectonic plates of society and culture are being torn apart. He calls it a Globequake because of its scope, velocity, and magnitude.
Only God's Kingdom cannot be shaken and he gives the reasons why this is so. We must bring God's Kingdom into our world, into each of the spheres of person, church, family, education, government, and business. He offers biblical truths that can be applied to bring stability to ourselves, our families, and our institutions. He explains how this can be done through renewal of vision, reinventions, and transformation.
He ends the book by reminding us that humans need hope. We cannot live without it. That will only come from living in the unshakable kingdom.
Henley shares his observations of the current world situation. He is very knowledgeable, giving insight in how we got to the situation we are today and then what can be done to bring God's Kingdom to it. He uses his skills as a journalist and government aid as he reports on the world condition. He uses his experience as a pastor as he gives a blueprint for action. He encourages us to see the current situation as an invitation to renew our faith and anchor ourselves in Christ.
There is nothing earth-shakingly new in this book. It is a good reminder, however, to keep our focus on God and His Kingdom.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of this review.
Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Finding hope among chaos for the believer!August 8, 2012Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4In today's news, we are bombarded with stories of unrest, joblessness, health care concerns, the state of our country, and it seems as if we have lost hope. We are searching for something more than the current state of the country and wondering to ourselves just when will it end? How bad will things get? Will it ever get any better?
When the offer came to me to review Wallace Henley's book, Globequake and reading the synopsis of what it was about, I had to read it. Too often I find myself wondering if we are on the threshold of something bad just about to happen before Christ, himself, returns and puts an end to all this unrest. Christians still remain the most persecuted people in the world and why is that, when all the other religions of the world remain virtually untouched. Is there some piece of wisdom to glean from it all when you look back at the course of history from the time of Christ's birth?
Wallace Henley believes there is and offers insight into the signs that seem to overlap one another whenever chaos seems to reign out of control and how to offer hope to the Christian during such trials. While the book is difficult to get into, there are moments of clarity where you find information that creates an "Ah-ha" moment for the reader throughout. I love where he takes a look at seemingly difficult situations but shows that with great leadership most of them can be overcome and hope is assured. Using examples from George Washington and Winston Churchill that had to endure difficult wars where people need a strong leader to rise, remain calm and instill in the people they led that it will get better.
History has proved that when chaos is intense and doom is certain, there must be an immovable center. Right at the core there must be a point so sturdy that those hurtling through terrifying change can lock on and find safety, sanity, and stability. He provides amazing scriptural references to all his ideas and using Hebrews 11, shows us that God often uses the most flawed people to bring about His biggest changes.
For any believer, we need to hold on to our spiritual beliefs, have faith and remember that nothing that happens in this world, doesn't happen without God's knowledge. We need to be diligent in our prayers even when uncertainty is right in front of us. God will provide the strength to endure it all and no matter how bad things get, we have to remember God is in control.
I received Globequake by Wallace Henley compliments of B & B Media Group for my honest review and think that it's a great book for anyone who needs that reminder of just how a Christian needs to view the world when things seem like they are falling apart. I rate this one a 4 out of 5 stars due to having a difficult time remaining focused on reading through this one, but like I stated before, there is wisdom in perseverance in reading it through!
