GLIMMER AND SHINE is a unique devotional for girls. It not only a devotional, but it includes fun activies for some of the 'devotions' such as word searches, crossword puzzles, codes, answering questions, pictures to color and more.

The actual devotions are well-thought out and quite good including a verse, the devotion with a story related to it, and concludes with an application and a prayer.

I would recommend this book for tween girls. It'd make an excellent gift for your favorite 8 - 12 year old girl to find in her stocking. The cover is glittery enough to appeal to the sparkle in your princess.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

This devotional book not only has Bible readings and meditations, but puzzles, coloring pages, and more. It's intended for girls ages eight and up, but I think the Scriptures and thoughts seem directed to more mature readers and would suggest age 12 and older. The daily readings can also be appreciated by adults. The interactive pages are intended for weekends so it would depend on when you begin the journey how they would fall, but it opens with a Sunday activity. This hardback one-year devotional does not have to be started in January, but could begin any time. The seven sections each have a theme, such as "Be Changed." I like the book's purpose to challenge and help girls be the best they can be, to grow in faith, and to trust God more. I wish the pages were larger because the text and coloring pictures appear rather small and the light blue Bible verses don't stand out as easy to read. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
