Throughout the reading, I was engrossed in the concept applied by the Molitors, as they set out to bring to fruition the plan that they believed God had for their children, three boys and a girl, based on Malachi 4:6: "And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."
The authors share with us of the wonder of parenting, but also of the pitfalls, and what we can do to get beyond the feelings that coincide. Their insight is invaluable for first time parents, as well as for those who have older children in need of emotional and spiritual favor from their parents. We long to be the best parents ever, but the ideal is shattered at times. The Molitors give us a chapter dealing with wounded hearts and lives, urging us to go to the Author of Life and ask Him to be our all time Guide.
A father's love, a father's blessing, a father's words, a father's touch, a father's joy--all are important in the lives of children and their passage to adulthood. That rite of celebration as described in this book will bring the reader to tears along with an overwhelming desire to have that for his own children, no matter the age. -- Sharon I.
