The instant bestseller A Girl After God's Own Heart now has an exciting companion volume!
It's never too early to teach tween girls the value of having personal devotions alone with the Lord. And a great way to encourage that habit is with A Girl After God's Own Heart Devotional.
Every day is an incredible new adventure for girls in this age group. New experiences, new things to learn, new challenges, new friendships, new activities, and much more. At this crucial transitional stage in life, these devotions will help girls to...
- see God as their best friend and helper
- trust God in their times of need
- learn how to make the best kinds of choices
- get along better with family and friends
- handle their emotions and responsibilities
A wonderful resource for helping girls to experience the joys and blessings of getting to know God.
akgirl10001 Stars Out Of 5Really DisappointedDecember 30, 2014akgirl1000Quality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I had ordered these for an upcoming young girls event. I was really disappointed when I went through and actually read the content. It felt like a lot of the book was talking about how to look like you're a Christian rather than how to actually know & seek Christ. She equated having a clean room to having a right looking relationship with Christ. Although I 'm all for having another reason for kids to clean their room. I don't believe that telling an impressionable 3rd grader that in order for her walk with God to be strong she has to have a clean room. This was just one of the many examples throughout the book that was very "works oriented" in a person's relationship with God. This book was meant to be in addition to the "A Girl After God's Own Heart" book. I'll be returning both along with the "Raising a Daughter After God's Own Heart" book.
Curlygirl5 Stars Out Of 5Sweet devotionalDecember 26, 2014CurlygirlQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought several of these devotionals, one for my daughter and a few others for her to give as gifts to friends. My daughter has enjoyed it. She is 12 and in recent years it has seemed like she's too old for "children's devotionals" - they generally lack depth she's ready for. However, the subject matter of "teen" devotionals is very mature and seems to threaten her innocence (to matters she should stay innocent to Rom 16:19). All of the girls who have received this - my daughter as well as her friends - have been delighted with it.
mom of little grls5 Stars Out Of 5perfect for my age 5 and 7 year oldsOctober 30, 2014mom of little grlsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I wanted something to do with my girls in the morning to begin teaching them to start their day with Jesus as they go to school. This takes about 3-5 minutes. We love it. the print is very small. My 7 year old can read it by herself.
DianeSeattle, WAAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Super SmallJanuary 3, 2014DianeSeattle, WAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3Look for the dimensions of the book so you are not surprised when it arrives and it is super small. I would probably not have purchased it if I had realized how little it was. Other than that the book itself is nicely made and the content is fabulous!
jgirlKansasAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5check the whole previewSeptember 15, 2012jgirlKansasAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I checked the preview based on the other reviews written and this devotional does have bible references. They are not on every page, but they are there and I like the way that the information is presented. I have been looking for a way to communicate God's word to my young daughters in a way that they would understand and I believe this is it:)
Ask a Question▼▲
Q: Adventure vs. Devotional Does the devotional book contain different information than the tween adventure? I'm trying to decide which one to buy of if I should get them both. Thanks!
The devotional contains small readings for each day. The 'Tween Adventure' is a regular type of book that would be read from cover to cover.
Q: Are there scripture passages for girls to look up in each devotion?
No, many of the devotionals do have scripture references that can be looked up, but there isn't a "scripture-of-the-day" listed every day.
