Rev. Ralph E. Molyneux5 Stars Out Of 5August 16, 2007Rev. Ralph E. MolyneuxThis book is outstanding. In a culture which seeks to avoid pain, Dr. Brand points out that our under-appreciation for pain does a great disservice. Not only is pain important physically to provide protective barriers to greater injury, but has dangerous results when we ignore or mask the symptoms of pain. Dr. Brand does not sermonize the subject, but addresses it from a medical and practical vantage point. The book provides great insight which if applied to spiritual and emotional pain, we can reap bountifully from his work. A word of caution: His medical descriptions of patients suffering from leprosy are not for the squeamish.
