Thus workbook strengthened my child's understanding of how words start with a sound that is attributed to a letter. For some reason, not all kids know what is meant when letters "say" something. The Code cleared up the confusion. It does not cover the whole alphabet, but is an overview that trains a child how to approach sounding out words and practicing the correct letter for it. It is very thorough on those letters. the rest of the alphabet has been review in other ways like handwriting practice, coloring giant letters while we talk about how they sound, to be put on the wall as a visual aid. I believe it readied my newly 5-year-old to jump right into The Good and The Beautiful Kindergarten Primer.

When my 6 year old does her Explode the Code workbooks my 4 year old enjoys doing Get ready for the code. This workbook is simple and easy to understand. It has helped him to understand the different letters, their sounds, how to write them and identify the first sounds of words.

It is 100% my fault for not double checking before purchasing. However so that others may know if they missed it this is not ment to be a full curriculum. I did purchase A,B and C but I didn't understand that this is supposed to be used with another primary english program for Kindergarten.

I am giving it full stars because it does do what it advertised. It is a good aid my childern have enjoyed it and I do think its a good program.
