AmyBurlingtonAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Creative, fun, country-specific projects + mapsAugust 10, 2024AmyBurlingtonAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this book. This is exactly what I was looking for to help with ideas for my kids' world geography class in which they were to create a portfolio/notebook with various information on a variety of countries. This book contains blank maps of the continents - a HUGE plus as they can be photocopied and leveraged for tests/quizzes not to mention used in overall map skills learning. It also contains an great template/worksheet for country stats/facts which can be copied as well so kids can research any country and use the worksheet to identify various info like population, rivers, capitals, etc.
Yes - the bulk of the book is not Christian. It does not contain "God-centered projects for each and every country" at all, but I wouldn't expect it to considering that Christianity is usually not the go to nor popular religion in many of these countries; however, in saying that, most of these projects aren't religion-specific either except for the fact that maybe the given country would use that specific item in religion. For instance, one of the projects for Africa is making a paper mache mask. Was that item used in religion? Yes. But is that item also often associated with Africa or African cultures? Yes.
I will also say the creativity and variety of projects in this book far exceeded my expectation. There are Asian fabric painting projects, Egyptian hieroglyphics projects, staff finial moldings for Ghana, African masks and sculptures, castle building and coat of arms projects for Europe, Aboriginal dot painting projects, etc. It's just a really big collection of geographical- and country-specific projects that you can either use in and of themselves, or leverage to spark your own creative juices.
I do recommend this product. -
NGV2 Stars Out Of 5Geography Through ArtJanuary 17, 2022NGVQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2I didn't research this book enough, therefore this is on me, but I'm disappointed in it. I wouldn't call it a Christian book, includes much about other religions; it's pretty dry and the artwork is in black and white. I would recommend History of Art by Ned Bustard instead.
