Lizdesigns25 Stars Out Of 5Thoughtfully and SlowlyApril 17, 2021Lizdesigns2Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you want to get the most out of this book, read it slowly and thoughtfully. Meditate on the concepts expressed in Scripture and explained and expanded in this book. Rejoice and tell others what you learned about God's heart of love for us, seen in Christ! I loved my sojourn in this book, reading only a few pages every night before drifting off into peaceful sleep, pillowed on the breast of Jesus. If you like only fluffy, quick, mindless reads, you won't enjoy this book at all. If you want to come repeatedly to the heart of Christ and find rest for your soul, this is a book you will love and reread.

Matt5 Stars Out Of 5A beautiful workDecember 15, 2020MattQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This was the best book I read all year. Not only does Dane Ortlund help you to see and understand Christ's heart toward us, but it is so beautifully written- not just the excerpts from Thomas Goodwin's works, but Ortlund's own words as well. I was reduced to tears in a number of chapters. This book is a gift to the church, at a time when we need it.

June C.Age: 35-44Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Wow!March 10, 2021June C.Age: 35-44Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Wow! What a fantastic book! I agree with other reviewers that this is a life-changer for sure! The author references several Puritan Theologians throughout the book that are wordy and hard to get through at times, but don't skip over it! Take the time to read it through, make sure you understand what is being said, and let it really sink in. It is definitely worth the read! My favorite part was the Epilogue (pgs 215 & 216). If you're a skimmer like me and just want to get a sense of what the book is like before reading it, read those two pages! They sum it up beautifully and the rest of the book fills in all the fine details. (And the jacket cover is beautiful!!)
