jsrn185 Stars Out Of 5Dreams do come true!August 11, 2014jsrn18Powerful story about having a vision and going for it. No matter what situation you live in or where you came from you have to have a dream about where you want your life to go. Its easy to go with the flow and see where life takes you but it most likely won't end how you wanted it to. Your vision and plan must also have God in consideration.
PMayesRaton, NMAge: 55-65Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Ok for football fansAugust 9, 2014PMayesRaton, NMAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3Game On by Emmitt Smith was, for me, just a so-so book. Im not a football fan nor do I watch Dancing With the Stars but I was interested as Emmitt professes to be a Christian. The book was written more from the perspective of how to set goals and achieve them rather than an autobiography.
I do admire what the man has accomplished in his life but I thought he oversimplified the process (and maybe bragged a bit too much) in this book.
bookwormPennsylvaniaAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good Sports Fan ReadJuly 14, 2014bookwormPennsylvaniaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Though I am not a fan of sports and usually don't read books written by sports professionals, I read Game On by Emmitt Smith and was surprised by the faith of the author. So often today many sports professionals are not the best role models, however, Emmitt Smith seems like a man who really loves God and his family. I also appreciated his sense of humor and found myself chuckling several times throughout my reading of his book. I found his story to be an inspiration because even when he thought he might not succeed in his endeavors, he never gave up and in the end, he usually accomplished what he set out to do. I also like how he gave God the credit for his successes. Though I found his book to be an enjoyable read, I noticed that the author did not quote any scripture verses, which I think would have made the book better. Despite the lack of scripture verses, this is a must read for all football fans especially our young people because they really need more positive role models to look up to and Emmitt Smith is one I believe is a decent role model.

Every chapter has a different topic to help the reader attain their goals in life. I thought the book was okay but it had a hard time keeping my attention. Some of the Scripture references seemed out of context as well, but the overall book was decent.
kdmrOhio5 Stars Out Of 5Great giftJanuary 11, 2012kdmrOhioValue: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book was less expensive than at my local retailer. I hadn't noticed when I ordered that it was hardcover, so when I opened it, I was greatly pleased! This was to be a gift for a family member who is a Cowboys fan and needs the extra encouragement from a positive role model. He was excited when he opened it and said he would definitely read it. The shipment arrived earlier than expected, and the packaging was in perfect order. Thank you very much!
