This is a fantastic read, evidently written by someone in love both with the Word and with Anne of Green Gables. Perfect for fans of the books and movies alike (or newbies to either/both)!

I read a handful of the Anne books growing up, but don't remember a thing about them. Picking this book up prompted me to restart the series (as it's encouraged to read both alongside each other), and oh my. I love both! Definitely recommended as you're able or have interest. (It also goes to show just how perfect casting was in the Megan Follows iteration. But I digress, as I'm not here to discuss Gilbert's swoonworthiness ... ahem.)

The devotional lends a new depth to the Anne book that I thoroughly appreciate. Dodge draws parallels I would not have thought of and thoroughly appreciate. I also really enjoy the personal application and included prayer--very thoughtful, and often convicting.

The artwork in the final version is, I'm sure, delightful; I read the eARC on my Kindle Oasis, so formatting was somewhat wonky (though to be expected). I'm excited to see "the real thing"; I don't always purchase a copy of the eARCs I review, but this one is definitely on my to-buy list.

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The Anne of Green Gables Devotional is a companion devotional to this story and helps us find the spiritual themes in each chapter of the Anne of Green Gables Book. This book helps us find and apply Gods plan for our life, including an explanation, scriptures, personal application and a prayer for each day per chapter.

Beautifully formatted! In this, THE ANNE OF GREEN GABLES DEVOTIONAL, by Rachel Dodge, and I want to thank the author for writing it. Each devotional was truly inspiring. I loved this book! It was filled with beautiful prayers and day by day devotionals that had to be read over and over. And especially the beautiful artwork throughout the book the author has displayed. It brought back to my memory the beautiful novel, and stirred emotions that made this book more enjoyable to read.

In fact, this book would make a beautiful Christmas gift for any reader to display in their own library. I know it will make a wonderful display for mine. I love the discussion questions in the back of the book, conversations can go on and on, especially when writing in a journal, or where they relate to the novel. Great read!

In day 28 where the author talked about Old Grievances, my heart went out to Gilbert, and what Anne Said truly hurt him. You would have to read that chapter in the novel to get the full understanding of what went on. Very sad indeed!

In the Personal Applications, there is one especially that touched my heart, where the psalmist describes his soul. That was beautiful. Also on page 175 where sorrow is mentioned. I recommend this book!

This devotional is such a beautiful companion to the classic novel! The illustrations are so lovely and the book overall is Truth-filled and God-honoring. I would recommend reading Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery before picking up this book. It does highlight events and conversations in the chapters and also go in depth into Christian themes throughout the book. This is another book that has eternal value, draws us closer to God, and points us to Jesus. I happen to have been a part of the author's launch team and I can tell you that she is just the loveliest kindred spirit and has a servant's heart for the Lord. Her devotionals are simply wonderful and I really can't recommend them enough!
