I'm not sure how many re-reads this book is worth--once you've read it once or twice, there is little to be learned by a return--but for that first couple of times it is well worth reading, in spite of being impossible to find on the shelves of my local libraries. It's a fantasy, but when you boil it all down you'll find that the core of it is this: a broken girl finds joy and healing, and a confused boy takes a trip through temptation to find hope in the Son of the Unchanging Changer.

This is a book my oldest son read when he was about 10. He is now 21 and still considers them some of his favorites. His younger brother is now 10 and about to begin the adventure in Anthropos. I'm much older than my sons, but good writing is ageless. This series is well written and will stand the test of age and time.
